EMU vs. John Carroll





Eastern Michigan University (in green, and white) battled John Carroll (in dark blue) on Sunday afternoon!





The game was played at the Taylor Sportsplex.  Eastern Michigan plays all of their home games there!





John Carroll scored the first goal of the game 9 minutes, and 5 seconds into the 2nd period.





EMU outshot John Carroll 40-35.  EMU played on Friday, and Saturday before welcoming JCU to town on Sunday!





John Carroll celebrated three goals in the second period.  They would add another in the third.






John Carroll currently sits in 2nd place in the CHMA (College Hockey Mid-America) Conference!






EMU is currently in 4th place in the GLCHL (Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League) Conference.

John Carroll 4 - EMU 0





John Carroll University (in dark blue) defeated Eastern Michigan University (in green, and white) 4-0 on Sunday afternoon!








     The Taylor Sportsplex was the venue for ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association) hockey last Sunday afternoon.  The John Carroll University Blue Streaks brought their 6-5 record to Taylor to take on the 5-6 Eastern Michigan University Eagles.  Eastern Michigan was playing their third game in three consecutive days, and failed to score against the Blue Streaks on Sunday.  Both teams were held scoreless until midway through the second period when #20 Kevin Vinyard found the back of the net to give the Blue Steaks an early lead.  John Carroll scored another goal about a minute later when #21 Mike Gionta cashed in on the power play.  #17 Jeff Russell added two more goals to the scoreboard (1 in the 2nd period, and 1 in the 3rd period) to give John Carroll the 4-0 win over Eastern Michigan.  The Eagles outshot the Blue Streaks 40-35, but took bad penalties, and allowed John Carroll to work the puck in the EMU zone, and take quality shots on goal.  John Carroll improved their overall record to 7-5 (with two overtime wins, and one shootout loss).  Eastern Michigan fell to 5-7 overall (with one overtime win).

John Carroll's #29 Justin Camuto stopped 40 shots on Sunday afternoon!  The senior goalie earned the shutout victory! 
 





Eastern Michigan University fell to 5-7 overall!  The Eagles play all of their home games at the Taylor Sportsplex!

EMU vs. Oakland





Oakland University (in black, and gold) faced off against Eastern Michigan University (in white) on Saturday night!





The game was played at the Taylor Sportsplex.  The EMU hockey team plays all of their home games in Taylor.

EMU's #31 Andrew Duff made 28 saves for the Eagles on Saturday night!





Both teams fought hard to earn points in the GLCHL standings!

EMU defeated Oakland 5-4.  EMU improved their overall record to 5-6.  Oakland fell to 6-6 overall.

EMU 5 - Oakland 4





Eastern Michigan University skated past Oakland University 5-4 on Saturday night at the Taylor Sportsplex!








     Oakland University brought their 6-5 record to the Taylor Sportsplex on Saturday night with hopes of picking up points in the GLCHL (Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League).  Eastern Michigan University entered Saturday night with an overall record of 4-6, but earned a victory over Oakland the previous night at the ONYX Ice Arena.  Both teams have earned victories against each other so far this season.  Oakland defeated Eastern Michigan 10-2 at the ONYX Ice Arena back on October 18th.  Both teams compete in Division 1 of the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association), and have become fierce rivals in the GLCHL.

GVSU vs. LTU





On Friday night, Grand Valley State University (in dark blue) played Lawrence Tech University (in light blue, and white)!





The game was played at the Southfield Arena!  It took overtime to determine a winner!




Lawrence Tech has struggled so far this season.  They have played in several close games.   




Both teams compete in the 3rd Division of the ACHA.  Both schools also play in the North Conference!






The Grand Valley State Lakers sit near the top of the North Conference!






Lawrence Tech goaltender #34 George Grzywacz did his best to keep the Blue Devils in the game!





The GVSU Lakers celebrated the winning goal in overtime defeating the LTU Blue Devils 4-3.

GVSU 4 - LTU 3 in OT





Grand Valley State University (in dark blue) defeated Lawrence Tech University (in white) 4-3 in overtime on Friday night!

Phat Buddahs vs. Gold Star





On Wednesday night, the Phat Buddahs (in orange) squared off against Gold Star (in blue) at Compuware Arena!





Both teams compete against each other in the Eds hockey over 45 league in Plymouth!





The Phat Buddahs entered Wednesday nights matchup with an overall record of 3-2-1.





Gold Star entered Wednesday night with an overall record of 1-4-1. 





The Phat Buddahs scored first to take an early 1-0 lead! 





Gold Star played a physical style game against the Phat Buddahs on Wednesday night!





Both teams fought hard to pick up points in the season standings!





The Phat Buddahs goalie (#33) made several big saves for his team!





Gold Star defeated the Phat Buddahs by a final score of 4-2.

Blues vs. Aflac





On Tuesday night, the Blues (in blue) battled Aflac (white) at Compuware Arena!





Both teams compete in the Eds hockey over 45 league in Plymouth!





The Blues entered Tuesday nights action with an overall record of 2-2-2.





Aflac entered Tuesday night with an overall record of 3-1-2.





Both teams left it all on the ice!





Aflac slips one by the Blues goaltender!





Aflac was able to keep the puck inside the Blues zone for much of the contest!





Aflac outshot the Blues on Tuesday night!





The Blues had trouble slowing down Aflac!
