Belle Isle FC vs. FSC Lightning

Belle Isle FC (in orange) battled FSC Lightning (in white) in a MUSL (Michigan United Soccer League) matchup! 

The game took place last Sunday in Plymouth!  Both teams compete in the MUSL Open Division!

Belle Isle FC won the 2013 Founders Cup Open Division Championship! They defeated the Michigan Rush in the Finals!

This is the 1st time that Belle Isle FC has appeared on the Mitten State Sports Report!

FSC Lightning was featured on the Mitten State Sports Report twice in 2013!

The Michigan United Soccer League Open Division has 2 Conferences!  Both teams compete in Conference B.

Belle Isle FC defeated FSC Lightning 2-1.

MUSL Open Division Returns!

Belle Isle FC (in orange) defeated FSC Lightning (in white) 2-1 yesterday in Plymouth! 

     The MUSL (Michigan United Soccer League) returned to action for their 2014 campaign, and several familiar teams are back this season.  The Mitten State Sports Report was in Plymouth yesterday for MUSL Open Division action between Belle Isle FC, and FSC Lightning.  Belle Isle FC won the 2013 MUSL Open Division Founders Cup, and they've started off this season on a positive note.  They defeated FSC Lightning 2-1 yesterday afternoon behind the old Visteon Plant.
     Belle Isle FC is owned and operated by Robert Anderson, and is currently in 2nd place in Conference B of the MUSL Open Division standings with 4 points, and an overall record of 1-0-1.  Belle Isle FC has only allowed 1 goal to be scored against them in 2 games.
     FSC Lightning is also owned and operated by Robert Anderson, and is currently in 4th place in Conference B of the MUSL Open Division standings with 3 points, and an overall record of 1-1.  Samer Sahoury leads FSC Lightning in scoring with 1 goal.
     The old Visteon Plant is located on Sheldon Road, and M-14 in Plymouth, and is now known as the ACH (Automotive Components Holdings) Plant.  The MUSL Open League consists of 14 teams, and 2 Conferences. MUSL Fall League Update

The MUSL plays in several cities throughout the Mitten State!

     The MUSL (Michigan United Soccer League) finished up their fall league season last Sunday without a playoff system to decide a winner.  There were eight teams that competed this fall, and a round-robin style format was used to schedule this seasons matchups.  San Marino Intra finished tied with the MYSC Yemen Stars for first place in the standings.  Both teams finished with 16 points, and overall records of 5-1-1.  The Stars won their round-robin matchup against San Marino Intra defeating them 4-2 back on October 13th.  The 13 Mile Lions finished close behind in the standings with 13 points, and an overall record of 4-2-1.  The Mitten State Sports Report covered over twenty MUSL clubs in six different cities this past summer, and all of the material was highly viewed.  Be sure to click on past months to view all of the Mitten State Sports Report's archived MUSL material.  Click on  www.musl.net  for more information about the Michigan United Soccer League.  Scroll down to see the final standings for this years MUSL Fall League.

MUSL Fall League!

SC Mladost BIH (in blue) is one of eight teams competing in this years MUSL Open Division Fall League!

     The Michigan United Soccer League's (MUSL) Open Division Fall League is underway, and a total of eight teams from both Open Divisions make up this years Fall League.  Games are played on Sundays in a round robin style schedule, where every team plays each other once.  There is no playoff system for this years Fall League, and games are scheduled all the way to the end of October.  The Belle Isle Football Club is currently 0-1, but the momentum from their 2013 Founders Cup Open Division Championship should assist them throughout their final six games.  Click on the link below for updated information about this years MUSL Open Division Fall League!
