Pictures of 2023

 


We attended a Motor City Rockers game. The Rockers compete in the FPHL.





The Rockers play their home games at Big Boy Arena located at 34400 Utica Road, in Fraser.



We checked out college hockey games in January, and in February.



The UofM-D hockey team was featured on the Mitten State Sports Report five times in 2023.



We went to the 2023 Plymouth Ice Festival in February.



The Plymouth Ice Festival has been featured on the Mitten State Sports Report every year since 2014.



We checked out college baseball games in the Spring.  This game was played at Concordia University. 



Eastern Michigan University lost a close game against Ball State University.  The final score was 2-1. 



The Eagles outlasted the Toledo Rockets 12-11 in a game played in late April.



We watched Livonia City FC in June.  LCFC defeated Michigan Stars FC Semi Pro 2-1.



We saw Oakland County FC earn a 4-3 victory at home against Kalamazoo FC.





We went to Motor Muster 2023.



Motor Muster 2023 featured hundreds of vehicles from the 1930's through the 1970's.





Vintage Base Ball at Greenfield Village.  



The Detroit Red Wings defeated the Washington Capitals 5-2 in a preseason game.



The USA NTDP was featured on the Mitten State Sports Report in November.

Ball State 2-1 EMU

     On Friday, March 24th, the Ball State University Cardinals defeated the Eastern Michigan University Eagles 2-1 in Ypsilanti.  Cardinals Shortstop #8 Adam Tellier singled in the top of the 9th inning to drive in the eventual game winning run.  The Cardinals also earned a 16-5 victory over the Eagles on Saturday, and a 7-3 win against the Eagles on Sunday.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs from Friday's game.

     The Ball State University Cardinals are currently in 1st place in the MAC (Mid-American Conference) standings with a conference record of 8-2, and an overall record of 18-7.  The Eastern Michigan University Eagles are currently in 8th place in the MAC standings with a conference record of 4-5, and an overall record of 11-10.

-  Cardinals Pitcher #19 Ryan Brown earned the win on Friday.  Brown's record this season is 4-1.


-  Eagles Pitcher #22 Luke Russo was charged with the loss on Friday.  Russo's record this season is 3-1.

-  Rich Maloney is the Head Coach of the Ball State University baseball team.

Chiefs College Connections

 



     The Kansas City Chiefs (16-3) are scheduled to play the Philadelphia Eagles (16-3) today at 6:30 p.m. in Super Bowl 57 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.  The Kansas City Chiefs active roster currently features five players that played college football in the state of Michigan including Frank Clark, Mike Danna, Chad Henne, Skyy Moore, and Andrew Wylie.

     Kansas City Chiefs Defensive End #55 Frank Clark played college football at the University of Michigan from 2011-2014.  The Seattle Seahawks selected Frank Clark in the 2nd round (63rd overall pick) of the 2015 NFL (National Football League) Draft.  Frank Clark played high school football in Ohio.

     Kansas City Chiefs Defensive End #51 Mike Danna played college football at the University of Michigan in 2019.  Danna also played college football at Central Michigan University from 2015-2018.  The Kansas City Chiefs selected Mike Danna in the 5th round (177th overall pick) of the 2020 NFL Draft.  Mike Danna played high school football at Warren De La Salle Collegiate High School.

     Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback #4 Chad Henne played college football at the University of Michigan from 2004-2007.  The Miami Dolphins selected Chad Henne in the 2nd round (57th overall pick) of the 2008 NFL Draft.  Chad Henne is from Pennsylvania.

     Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver #24 Skyy Moore played college football at Western Michigan University from 2019-2021.  The Kansas City Chiefs selected Skyy Moore in the 2nd round (54th overall pick) of the 2022 NFL Draft.  Skyy Moore is from Pennsylvania.

     Kansas City Chiefs Guard #77 Andrew Wylie played college football at Eastern Michigan University from 2012-2016.  Andrew Wylie also played high school football at Midland High School.  Andrew Wylie went undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft.

LTU Football News

     Avante Mitchell is entering his 1st season as Head Coach of the Lawrence Tech University football team.  Lawrence Tech University is a NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) program, and the Blue Devils compete in the MSFA (Mid-States Football Association).  On Tuesday, July 28th, the NAIA Council of Presidents voted to postpone the 2020 NAIA Football Championship Series until the Spring of 2021.  Former Blue Devils Head Coach Jeff Duvendeck is now on the staff of the Eastern Michigan University football program as an Offensive Analyst.

-  The Lawrence Tech University football program played a provisional season in the Mid-States Football Association in 2018.  The Blue Devils finished the 2018 season with an overall record of 5-3. 



-  Lawrence Tech University began a football program in 1932.  The team disbanded because of World War II.

Pictures of 2016





2016 began with the annual Plymouth Ice Festival.






We watched College Hockey at the Taylor Sportsplex.  The Taylor Sportsplex is the former home of the EMU hockey team.






The Eastern Michigan University hockey team now plays their home games at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube.






The Adrian College Bulldogs have a solid hockey program.






The University of Michigan Dearborn hockey team has been featured on the Mitten State Sports Report for the 5th straight year.






We watched the Madonna University softball team.  Madonna University is located in Livonia, Michigan.






We checked out the University of Michigan baseball team.  The Wolverines swept UIC in a four game series.






We watched the Madonna University baseball team.  Madonna University plays their home games at Ilitch Park, in Livonia.  






We visited Mill Race Village located in the city of Northville.





Watch out for the train at Heritage Park in Taylor.  






We watched live harness racing at Northville Downs.  






Live harness racing returns to Northville Downs on March 3rd, 2017.






We went on the track at Flat Rock Speedway.  






ARCA racing returns to Flat Rock Speedway on April 29th, 2017.






Hines Park is a great place to relax, and unwind.  This photograph was taken at the Newburgh Pointe Recreational Area.






We watched the Junior League World Series in Taylor.  Chinese Taipei won their 4th straight Championship.






We checked out the 6th Annual Cruisin' Hines.  The Cruisin' Hines gets bigger, and better every year.






Blue Sky Ice Cream and Hamburger (in Romulus) has a Classic Car Show every Thursday (weather permitting).






Concordia University in Ann Arbor fields a NAIA football team.






Concordia University plays their home games at Cardinal Stadium, in Ann Arbor.






There were ice sculptures at Henry Ford College.  Henry Ford College is located in Dearborn.






Lawrence Tech University plays their home games at the Southfield Sports Arena. LTU defeated the University of Michigan.






We checked out the USA NTDP (National Team Development Program) at the USA Hockey Arena.
