Hope Wins Titles

 

     On Tuesday, March 15th, the Hope College Men's hockey team defeated the University of Michigan Wolverines 2-1 to win the 2022 ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association) Division 3 National Championship.  The Hope College Men's hockey team finished the 2021-2022 season with an overall record of 34-1.  The Flying Dutchmen finished the regular season in 1st place in the MCHC (Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference) standings with a conference record of 19-0.  Hope College lost to Grand Valley State University 3-2 (in double overtime) in the MCHC Tournament Final.

     On Saturday, March 19th, the Hope College Women's basketball team defeated the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks 71-58 to win the 2022 NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division III National Championship.  The Hope College Women's basketball team finished the 2021-2022 season with an overall record of 32-1.  Hope College finished the regular season tied for 1st place (with Trine University) in the MIAA (Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association) standings with an overall record of 15-1.  Hope College defeated Trine University 54-50 in the MIAA Tournament Championship.

-  The MCHC Tournament Championship is also known as the Vezina Cup.  

-  Chris Van Timmeren is the Head Coach of the Hope College Men's hockey team. 

-  Brian Morehouse is the Head Coach of the Hope College Women's basketball team.

-  The Hope College Women's basketball team suffered their only loss of the season in a regular season matchup against Trine University.  Hope College went 3-1 against Trine University during the 2021-2022 season.

-  The NCAA Women's Division III Basketball Tournament was cancelled in 2020, and 2021 because of the pandemic.

Albion Athletics On YouTube

 

     The Albion Athletics YouTube channel currently features 119 videos for fans of college sports.  The channel livestreams entire Albion College games, and shorter videos that show just the highlights.  Albion College is a NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division III program, and the Britons compete in the MIAA (Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association).  The Albion Athletics YouTube channel currently has 665 subscribers.

-  Albion College joined YouTube in September of 2020.  

-  The Albion College football team finished the 2021 season with an overall record of 9-2.  The Britons lost to the University of Wisconsin La Crosse Eagles 58-23 in the first round of the NCAA Division III Playoffs.   

-  The Albion Men's Lacrosse team finished the 2021 season with an overall record of 13-2.  The Britons lost to the Hope College Dutchmen 19-13 in the MIAA Tournament Final.

College Hoops

On Friday, December 23rd, the University of Michigan Dearborn Wolverines defeated the Adrian College Bulldogs 64-62.

     On Friday, December 23rd, the University of Michigan Dearborn Wolverines defeated the Adrian College Bulldogs 64-62.  #20 Jason Penn lead the Wolverines with 19 points, and 15 rebounds, and #10 Marcus Williams added 18 points, and 6 rebounds.  The Bulldogs had a chance at a game winning shot from half court, but the attempt came up short.  Adrian College competes in Division III of the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association).  The University of Michigan Dearborn Wolverines compete in Division II of the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics).  Click on the links below for more information about the NCAA, or the NAIA.

College Softball: AC at MU

Last Tuesday, Madonna University (in blue) defeated Albion College (in purple) twice.  The scores were 14-0, and 12-0.    

     Last Tuesday, the Madonna University softball team hosted Albion College for a doubleheader.  The Madonna Crusaders shutout the Albion Britons 14-0 in the first game, and 12-0 in the second game.  Both games were played at University Field, in Livonia.  Scroll down to check out exclusive photos from the first game of the doubleheader showdown.

Madonna University plays all of their home games at University Field, in Livonia. 

 

#5 Bree Crampton picked up the win in the 1st game.  Crampton pitched 5 innings, allowed 2 hits, and recorded 10 strikeouts!  

 

#5 Bree Crampton is one of the top Pitchers in the Country!  Crampton is playing in her Senior season at Madonna.

  

#10 Kayla Rebain is batting .261 this season.  In 2015, Rebain has already hit 3 home runs, and recorded 8 RBI's. 

The Madonna Crusaders are currently riding an 8 game winning streak.

Madonna University celebrated 2 victories over Albion College.
