MHSAA Hockey Finals

 



     On Saturday, March 12th, the 2021-2022 MHSAA (Michigan High School Athletic Association) hockey State Finals were held at the USA Hockey Arena located at 14900 Beck Road, in Plymouth.  Detroit Catholic Central defeated Brighton High School 5-1 to claim the Division 1 State Final.  Hartland High School defeated Trenton High School 3-2 in overtime to win the Division 2 State Final.  Midland Dow defeated Orchard Lake St. Mary's 2-0 to capture the Division 3 State Final.

-  The 2021-2022 MHSAA Girls basketball State Finals are scheduled for Saturday, March 19th.   


-  The 2021-2022 MHSAA Boys basketball State Finals are scheduled for Saturday, March 26th.    


-  The 2021-2022 MHSAA baseball State Finals are scheduled for Saturday, June 18th. 


-  The 2021-2022 MHSAA softball State Finals are also scheduled for Saturday, June 18th.

Petry Is Pivotal




     Jeff Petry is currently a Defenseman for the Montreal Canadiens.  Jeff is also the son of former Detroit Tigers Pitcher Dan Petry.  The Montreal Canadiens will be on the road tonight for Game 1of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Tampa Bay Lightning.  Petry scored 12 goals, and added 30 assists in 55 games played this season for the Montreal Canadiens.  Jeff Petry grew up in Farmington Hills, Michigan.  

     Jeff Petry played high school hockey at Orchard Lake St. Mary's.  Petry also played college hockey for the Michigan State University Spartans.  Jeff Petry was drafted in the 2nd round (45th overall pick) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers.  Dan Petry is currently on the Detroit Tigers broadcast team for Bally Sports Detroit.

Catholic Central 2-2 St. Mary's





On Saturday, the Detroit Catholic Central Shamrocks skated to a 2-2 tie against the Orchard Lake St. Mary's Eaglets.











     On Saturday, December 3rd, the Detroit Catholic Central Shamrocks skated to a 2-2 tie against the Orchard Lake St. Mary's Eaglets.  The Shamrocks were able to earn a 2-0 victory over the Eaglets the previous night. Saturday night's game was played at the USA Hockey Arena located at 14900 Beck Road, in Plymouth.  Both hockey teams compete in Division 1 of the MHSAA (Michigan High School Athletic Association).  Click on the link below for more information about the MHSAA.
     The Detroit Catholic Central hockey team currently has an overall record of 3-3-1 (1 tie).  The Shamrocks are the 3 time defending MHSAA Division 1 State Champions.  Click on the link below for more information about Detroit Catholic Central.
