Random Bobblehead Tournament





Scroll down and vote in the Mitten State Sports Report's Random Bobblehead Tournament.  











     There was the Local Wrestling Tournament in 2013, the NBA All-Time Playoffs in 2014, and the Local Car Show Tournament in 2016.  The Mitten State Sports Report is proud to unveil its Random Bobblehead Tournament for 2017.  Eight competitors will face off in a tournament, and your votes will decide who wins. Each, and every round will consist of three days of voting.
     The Steve Yzerman bobblehead was named as the #1 overall seed, and will face the #8 seeded Bobby Higginson bobblehead in the first round.  The winner will advance to the semifinals to face the winner of the #4 vs. #5 matchup.  The Bo Schembechler bobblehead received the #2 overall seed, and will take on the #7 seeded Corliss Williamson bobblehead.  The winner will advance to the semifinals to meet the winner of the #3 vs. #6 matchup.
     The Sparky Anderson bobblehead earned the #3 overall seed, and will face the #6 seeded Jerry Stackhouse bobblehead in the first round.  The winner will advance to the semifinals to take on the winner of the #2 vs. #7 matchup.  The Ernie Harwell bobblehead was given the #4 overall seed, and will face the #5 seeded Ben Wallace bobblehead.  The winner will advance to the semifinals to meet the winner of the #1 vs. #8 matchup.

-  The Ernie Harwell bobblehead is the tallest bobblehead in the tournament.



-  The Steve Yzerman bobblehead bobbles for the least amount of time compared to the rest of the competitors in the tournament.



-  The Bobby Higginson bobblehead bobbles longer than any other bobblehead in the tournament.



-  The Steve Yzerman, and Ernie Harwell bobbleheads are the most realistic looking bobbleheads in the tournament.



-  The Jerry Stackhouse, and Corliss Williamson bobbleheads are the least resembling looking bobbleheads in the tournament.



-  Rhino won the Mitten State Sports Report's Local Wrestling Tournament in 2013.



-  The 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls won the Mitten State Sports Report's All-Time NBA Playoffs in 2014.



-  Blue Sky Ice Cream and Hamburger won the Mitten State Sports Report's Local Car Show Tournament in 2016.

2.  Detroit Tigers Pitcher Denny McLain won 31 games during the 1968 MLB season.





3.  I-75 runs through 6 states including Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, and Michigan.





4.  The Detroit Red Wings were known as the Detroit Falcons from 1930-1932.





5.  Madonna (singer-song writer) was born in Bay City, Michigan.





6.  Sparky Anderson wore #11 while he was the Manager of the Detroit Tigers.





7.  Michigan's State flower is the Apple Blossom.





8.  Chris Webber played his High School basketball at Detroit Country Day School.





9.  The Ford World Headquarters is located in Dearborn, Michigan.

M.S.S.R. Awards Nominees!

     On July 30th, the Mitten State Sports Report announced that the nominees for the Mitten State Sports Report Awards would be revealed sometime in the middle of August.  There are twenty awards in the first ever edition of the Mitten State Sports Report Awards, and three nominees have been selected for each award.  Here are the nominees for the first ever Mitten State Sports Report Awards!
