On Wednesday, January 24th, the Motor City Gamblers defeated the MJDP (Metro Jets Development Program) 2-1 in a shootout. Both teams compete in the Premier Division of the USPHL (United States Premier Hockey League). Wednesday's game was played at Big Boy Arena located at 34400 Utica Road, in Fraser, Michigan. MJDP Defenseman #4 Josh Boze scored the first goal of the game midway into the 2nd period. Motor City Gamblers Center #71 Preston Stenzel tied the game about four minutes later. Gamblers Center #8 Shaun Zatelli scored the game winning goal in the shootout. The Motor City Gamblers outshot the Metro Jets Development Program 29-25.
MJDP is currently in 1st place in the USPHL Midwest East Division standings with 50 points, and an overall record of 23-5-0-4 (0 overtime losses, and 4 shootout losses). The Motor City Gamblers are currently in 4th place in the USPHL Midwest East Division standings with 35 points, and an overall record of 16-14-1-2 (1 overtime loss, and 2 shootout losses).
