MSU 4-3 UofM

On Friday, October 5th, the MSU Spartans defeated the UofM Wolverines 4-3.

     On Friday, October 5th, the Michigan State University Spartans defeated the University of Michigan Wolverines 4-3.  Both teams compete in Division 2 of the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association), and both schools are Conference rivals in the Great Midwest Hockey League.  Friday's game was played at Yost Ice Arena located at 1000 S State Street, in Ann Arbor.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs of college hockey at Yost Arena.
     The Michigan State University ACHA Division 2 hockey club currently has an overall record of 1-2.  The Spartans also field an ACHA Division 3 hockey club, and a NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division I hockey team.  Click on the links below for more information about the NCAA, the Michigan State University ACHA Division 2 hockey club, or the Michigan State University athletic program.

-  The Wolverines ACHA Division 2 hockey club also plays home games at the Plymouth Cultural Center located at 525 Farmer Street, in Plymouth.



-  Ryan Brown is the Head Coach of the Wolverines ACHA Division 2 hockey club.



-  The Wolverines ACHA Division 2 hockey club has scored 23 goals, and allowed 9 goals in 3 games.



-  James Martin is the Head Coach of the Spartans ACHA Division 2 hockey club.  



-  The Spartans ACHA Division 2 hockey club has scored 7 goals, and allowed 20 goals in 3 games.

Pictures of 2017

2017 began with the 35th Annual Plymouth Ice Festival.

We watched the University of Michigan Dearborn hockey team.

We took in a game at Yost Ice Arena.  

Viewers sent in exclusive photographs of live action at Yost Ice Arena.

Yost Ice Arena is located at 1000 S State Street, in Ann Arbor.

We checked out the University of Michigan baseball team in March.  

We also saw the Henry Ford College baseball team play Jackson College.

The Madonna University baseball team was featured on the Mitten State Sports Report in April.

Summer is all about Classic Car Shows.  We went to the VFW Post 345 in Redford.

Blue Sky Ice Cream & Hamburger has an awesome weekly Classic Car Show.

We also checked out the weekly Classic Car Show at St. Robert Bellarmine.

We took in some ARCA Racing at Flat Rock Speedway. 

ARCA Racing returns to Flat Rock Speedway on Saturday, April 28th.

We checked out the Michigan Stars FC (in red) in July.  The Stars defeated Lansing United (in blue)  2-1. 

We went to the Junior League World Series in August.  Chinese Taipei won the 2017 Junior League World Series.

Vintage Base Ball was featured on the Mitten State Sports Report in September.

We attended the 7th Annual Cruisin' Hines.  

We watched the Schoolcraft College Men's soccer team defeat Muskegon Community College 7-0.

The Marian University Knights visited Concordia University.  The Cardinals defeated the Knights 39-36.

The Concordia University football team finished the 2017 season with an overall record of 9-2.

We watched the USA NTDP (National Team Development Program) U-17 Team.

We also checked out the USA NTDP U-18 Team.

Northville Downs featured Virtual Harness Racing.  

We took in a game at the Southfield Ice Arena.  Aquinas College defeated Lawrence Tech University 3-2.

We watched the Schoolcraft College Men's hockey team defeat the Western Michigan University Stallions 11-5.

We went back to Yost Ice Arena in December.

-  Yost Ice Arena was built in 1923.  



-  The Schoolcraft College Men's soccer team advanced to the 2017 NJCAA Division 1 National Championship.



-  The Concordia University football team made it to the 1st round of the 2017 NAIA Football Championship Series.  



-  The USA NTDP is currently in 1st place in the USHL (United States Hockey League) standings with an overall record of 20-9-1 (1 shootout loss).
