Hot Rods & Dragway Memories!

     www.michiganhotrod.com  is an online magazine, and a great website that features information, and news about Hot Rods, and local Car Shows.  They have photos, and articles covering several local cruises such as the Harper Ave. Cruise, the Woodward Dream Cruise, and the Annual St. Ignace Car Show.  www.michiganhotrod.com  also has news regarding upcoming cruises, and of course, all of the latest Hot Rod news.  Click on the link below for more information about  www.michiganhotrod.com    
     www.detroitdragway.com  is a really cool website that is dedicated to preserving the memories of the Detroit Dragway.  They feature photos, and stories about the drivers who once raced there on Saturday nights. The Detroit Dragway was open from 1959-1998, and it was located on the corner of Sibley, and Dix, in Brownstown.  Click on the link below to learn more about the history of the Detroit Dragway.

Jr. Hockey in Brownstown




On Wednesday night, the MC Monarchs (in red, and white) defeated the Detroit Fighting Irish 5-3.










     The MWJHL (Midwest Junior Hockey League) is constantly growing, and the Downriver area now has a team to follow.  The Detroit Fighting Irish play all of their home games at the Ice Box, in Brownstown, and tickets are priced at $5.00.  The MWJHL features local teams, local players, and offers quality hockey for fans of the game.  The Ice Box is located at 21902 Telegraph Road.

     The Detroit Fighting Irish are currently in 3rd place in the MWJHL standings with 17 points, and an 8-6 (1 shootout loss) overall record. The MC Monarchs celebrated the 5-3 victory.  The Monarchs improved their overall record to 12-5.





The Detroit Fighting Irish play all of their home games at the Ice Box.  The Ice Box is located in Brownstown





The MC Monarchs are an expansion team playing their 1st season in the MWJHL.

Alpena 8 - Detroit 5





On Sunday, the Alpena Flyers celebrated an 8-5 victory over the Detroit Fighting Irish.









     On Sunday afternoon, the Alpena Flyers earned a 8-5 road win at the Ice Box in Brownstown.  The Detroit Fighting Irish are playing all of their home games at the Ice Box this season, and the Fighting Irish are currently in 3rd place in the MWJHL (Midwest Junior Hockey League) with 10 points, and an overall record of 5-3.
