Prowlers 7-3 Rockers

     On Tuesday, December 31st, the Port Huron Prowlers defeated the Motor City Rockers 7-3.  Both teams compete in the Empire Division of the FPHL (Federal Prospects Hockey League).  The Motor City Rockers play their home games at Big Boy Arena located at 34400 Utica Road, in Fraser, Michigan.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs of professional hockey in Fraser. 

     The Port Huron Prowlers are currently in 2nd place in the FPHL Empire Division standings with 51 points, and an overall record of 17-12-4 (4 overtime losses).  The Motor City Rockers are currently in 5th place in the FPHL Empire Division standings with 34 points, and an overall record of 12-17-2 (2 overtime losses).  There are seven teams competing in the FPHL Empire Division, and seven teams competing in the FPHL Continental Division.

Hat Tricks 3-2 Rockers

     On Saturday, December 7th, the Danbury Hat Tricks defeated the Motor City Rockers 3-2.  Both teams compete in the Empire Division of the FPHL (Federal Prospects Hockey League).  The Motor City Rockers play their home games at Big Boy Arena located at 34400 Utica Road, in Fraser, Michigan.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs of professional hockey in Fraser. 

     The Danbury Hat Tricks are currently in 4th place in the FPHL Empire Division standings with 43 points, and an overall record of 13-10-6 (6 overtime losses).  The Motor City Rockers are currently in 5th place in the FPHL Empire Division standings with 34 points, and an overall record of 12-16-2 (2 overtime losses).  There are seven teams competing in the FPHL Empire Division, and seven teams competing in the FPHL Continental Division. 

     On Friday, January 24th, the Motor City Rockers announced that Ken Andrews is the new owner of the team. The Rockers stated that Nick Field will oversee all player transactions, and roster management.  The Rockers also made note that there will be no changes to the team's branding, colors, or logos.  The full press release can be seen on the FPHL website.

Port Huron Prowlers On YouTube

 



     The Port Huron Prowlers YouTube channel currently features 42 videos for fans of minor league hockey.  The Port Huron Prowlers compete in the FPHL (Federal Prospects Hockey League) against six other teams including the Binghamton Black Bears, the Carolina Thunderbirds, the Columbus River Dragons, the Danbury Hat Tricks, the Delaware Thunder, and the Watertown Wolves.  The Port Huron Prowlers YouTube channel currently has 596 subscribers.

     The Port Huron Prowlers YouTube channel includes videos of full games, a training camp video from before this season, and interviews with players like Austin Fetterly, and Casey Harris.  The Port Huron Prowlers joined YouTube in March of 2021.

     The Port Huron Prowlers open up the 2022 FPHL Playoffs at home tonight at 7:00 p.m. against the Carolina Thunderbirds in a best of three game series.  The two teams are scheduled to meet again tomorrow night in North Carolina for the second game of the series.  If necessary, the third game of the series will also take place in North Carolina.

     The Port Huron Prowlers finished the 2021-2022 FPHL regular season in 6th place in the FPHL standings with 56 points, and an overall record of 18-32-4 (4 overtime losses).  The Prowlers play their home games at McMorran Arena located at 701 McMorran Blvd, in Port Huron, Michigan.  The Prowlers first round playoff games against the Carolina Thunderbirds can be seen live on the Port Huron Prowlers YouTube channel.  

     The Carolina Thunderbirds finished the 2021-2022 FPHL regular season in 5th place in the FPHL standings with 92 points, and an overall record of 31-26-5 (5 overtime losses).  The Thunderbirds play their home games at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Annex in North Carolina.  The Carolina Thunderbirds first round playoff games against the Port Huron Prowlers can be seen live on the Carolina Thunderbirds TV YouTube channel.

     Port Huron Prowlers Forward #92 Dalton Jay lead the team this season in points, in goals, and in assists.  Dalton Jay accumulated 34 goals, 37 assists, and 71 points in 51 games played this season.  Prowlers Forward, and Head Coach #51 Matt Graham compiled 19 goals, 36 assists, and 55 points in 54 games played this season.  Prowlers Defenseman, and Assistant Coach #25 Alex Johnson produced 20 goals, 29 assists, and 49 points in 54 games played this season.

FPHL News: March 2022




     The Port Huron Prowlers have clinched a spot in the 2021-2022 FPHL (Federal Prospects Hockey League) Playoffs with four regular season games remaining on their schedule.  The Prowlers are currently in 6th place in the FPHL standings with 55 points, and an overall record of 18-29-3 (3 overtime losses).  The Watertown Wolves are currently in 1st place in the FPHL standings with 115 points, and an overall record of 39-11-2 (2 overtime losses).  

     Watertown Wolves Forward #23 Justin MacDonald currently leads the FPHL in points this season with 116.  MacDonald also currently leads the league in goals with 59.  MacDonald is currently 2nd in the FPHL in assists with 57.  Binghamton Black Bears Defenseman #27 Kyle Powell currently leads the league in assists with 64.  Carolina Thunderbirds Goaltender #31 Chris Paulin currently leads the FPHL in wins with 17. 

     Port Huron Prowlers Forward #92 Dalton Jay currently leads the team in goals, assists, and points.  Jay has accumulated 34 goals, 36 assists, and 70 points in 48 games played this season.  Prowlers Forward #51 Matt Graham has compiled 19 goals, 35 assists, and 54 points in 50 games played this season.  Prowlers Defenseman #25 Alex Johnson has produced 20 goals, 27 assists, and 47 points in 50 games played this season.

FPHL News: February 2022

 



     The FPHL (Federal Prospects Hockey League) announced on Thursday that six of its seven teams will make the 2022 FPHL Playoffs.  The top two overall seeds will earn a first-round bye, and the third overall seed will get to choose their first-round opponent.  The top overall seed will then get to choose their second-round opponent from the three remaining teams.  The first two rounds of the playoffs are all best-of-three game series.  The number of games to be played in the Commissioner's Cup final has not yet been determined.

     The Port Huron Prowlers are currently in 6th place in the 2021-2022 FPHL standings with 40 points, and an overall record of 13-21-2 (2 overtime losses).  The Prowlers will most likely make the playoffs ahead of the Delaware Thunder.  The Thunder are currently in 7th place in the 2021-2022 FPHL standings with 6 points, and an overall record of 2-30-1 (1 overtime loss).  The Watertown Wolves are currently in 1st place in the 2021-2022 FPHL standings with 80 points, and an overall record of 27-6-1 (1 overtime loss). 

     Watertown Wolves Forward #23 Justin MacDonald currently leads the FPHL in points this season with 82.  MacDonald also currently leads the league in assists this season with 43.  Binghamton Black Bears Forward #8 Nikita Ivashkin currently leads the FPHL in goals this season with 43.

     Port Huron Prowlers Forward #92 Dalton Jay currently leads the team in goals, assists, and points.  Jay has accumulated 28 goals, 29 assists, and 57 points in 34 games played this season.  Prowlers Forward #51 Matt Graham is currently second on the team in points with 39.  Graham is also the Head Coach, and General Manager of the Port Huron Prowlers.  Prowlers Defenseman #25 Alex Johnson is currently third on the team in points with 36.  Johnson is also an Assistant Coach, and General Manager of the Port Huron Prowlers.

-  The Commissioner's Cup was known as the Ignite Cup last season. 


-  The Battle Creek Rumble Bees, the Motor City Rockers, and the St. Clair Shores Fighting Saints are all dormant FPHL, or FHL teams.  The Motor City Rockers have never played a game in the FPHL. 


-  The FHL played their inaugural season in 2010-2011.

Thunderbirds On YouTube

 



     The Carolina Thunderbirds TV YouTube channel currently features 329 videos for fans of professional hockey.  The Carolina Thunderbirds are a successful minor league franchise that competes in the FPHL (Federal Prospects Hockey League) against six other teams including their biggest rival the Port Huron Prowlers.  The Carolina Thunderbirds YouTube channel has several full hockey games, and lots of Thunderbirds games vs. the Port Huron Prowlers.  

     The Carolina Thunderbirds TV YouTube channel also features short video segments such as "Coaches Show", "Film Study", "Kids Stix", and "Weekend Recap".  Archived ACCHL (Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League) hockey games can also be seen on the Carolina Thunderbirds TV YouTube channel. 

     The Carolina Thunderbirds have played three consecutive games against the Port Huron Prowlers, and the teams will play another two consecutive games against each other later tonight at 6:05 p.m. and tomorrow afternoon at 3:05 p.m.  Both games can be seen live on the Carolina Thunderbirds TV YouTube channel.  Dillon Clark does the play-by-play commentary for the Carolina Thunderbirds games. 

     The Carolina Thunderbirds are currently in 5th place in the 2021-2022 FPHL standings with 59 points, and an overall record of 20-16-3 (3 overtime losses).  The Thunderbirds are averaging just under 2,500 fans per game this season at home.  The Carolina Thunderbirds play their home games at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Annex in North Carolina. 

     The Carolina Thunderbirds roster features four players from the state of Michigan including Forward #5 Cameron Dimmitt (Howell), Forward #22 George Holt (Rochester Hills), Forward #7 Tim Perks (Oxford), and Forward #15 Everett Thompson (Grand Rapids).  Kelly Curl is the Interim Head Coach, and General Manager of the Carolina Thunderbirds.  

     The Carolina Thunderbirds won the 2019 Commissioner's Cup (FPHL Championship).  The name of the cup changed last season to the Ignite Cup, but the Commissioner's Cup has returned for this season.  Fiddlin' Fish Brewing Company in Winston-Salem, North Carolina produces a "Carolina Thunderbirds Blonde Ale", a "Thunderbirds Red" wine, a "Carolina White" wine, and a "Carolina Thunderbirds Vanilla Coffee Porter".

FPHL News: November 2021




     The Port Huron Prowlers are currently in 4th place in the FPHL (Federal Prospects Hockey League) standings with 9 points, and an overall record of 2-2-1-1 (1 overtime win, and 1 overtime loss).  The FPHL awards three points for a win, two points for an overtime win, and 1 point for an overtime loss.  The FPHL was previously known as the Federal Hockey League until the end of the 2017-2018 season. 

     The 2021-2022 FPHL season features seven teams including the Binghamton Black Bears, the Carolina Thunderbirds, the Columbus River Dragons, the Danbury Hat Tricks, the Delaware Thunder, the Port Huron Prowlers, and the Watertown Wolves.  The Danbury Hat Tricks are currently in 1st place in the FPHL standings with 11 points, and an overall record of 3-1-1 (1 overtime win).  The Binghamton Black Bears are an expansion team competing in their first FPHL season.  The Columbus River Dragons won the 2021 Ignite Cup (FPHL Championship).  The Ignite Cup was formerly known as the Commissioner's Cup before last season.  

     The Motor City Rockers were supposed to compete in the 2021-2022 FPHL season, but the team has remained dormant for the second season in a row.  The Rockers have yet to play a FPHL game after announcing their arrival in 2020.  The Rockers become the third FHL/FPHL team from the state of Michigan to cease operations.  The Battle Creek Rumble Bees competed in the FPHL during the 2019-2020 season, and the St. Clair Shores Fighting Saints competed in the FHL during the 2016-2017 season.

Rockers Dormant This Season

 



     The Motor City Rockers were scheduled to compete as an expansion team in the shortened 2021 FPHL (Federal Prospects Hockey League) season, but the Rockers will remain dormant until the 2021-2022 FPHL season.  There are currently only four teams competing in the 22 game 2021 FPHL season including the Carolina Thunderbirds, the Columbus River Dragons (Georgia), the Elmira Enforcers, and the Port Huron Prowlers.  Ten teams were previously slated to compete in the 2021 FPHL season. 

     The Elmira Enforcers are currently in 1st place in the 2021 FPHL Western Division standings with 9 points, and an overall record of 2-0-1-1 (1 overtime win, and 1 overtime loss).  Carolina has not played a game yet this season, but the Thunderbirds are scheduled to drop the puck on Wednesday, March 3rd against the Elmira Enforcers.  The Carolina Thunderbirds are scheduled to play all of their games on the road this season.

FPHL Adds Motor City

 



     The Motor City Rockers will compete as an expansion team in the 2020-2021 FPHL (Federal Prospects Hockey League) season.  The 2020-2021 FPHL season will feature ten teams as the Motor City Rockers are replacing the Battle Creek Rumble Bees.  Battle Creek is dormant after only competing in one FPHL season in 2019-2020.  The Rumble Bees finished the 2019-2020 FPHL season with an overall record of 1-45-2 (2 overtime losses).  

     The Motor City Rockers will compete in the FPHL Western Division against four other teams including the Carolina Thunderbirds, the Columbus River Dragons (Georgia), the Danville Dashers, and the Port Huron Prowlers.  The FPHL Eastern Division will feature five teams including the Danbury Hat Tricks, the Delaware Thunder, the Elmira Enforcers, the Mentor Ice Breakers, and the Watertown Wolves.

     The Motor City Rockers will play their home games at Fraser Hockeyland located at 34400 Utica Road, in Fraser.  Adam Stio is the President of the Motor City Rockers, and Kahlil Thomas has been named as the Rockers Head Coach.  The Rockers uniform color is mostly purple.

Hockey: FPHL News







     The State of Michigan features two professional hockey teams that compete in the FPHL (Federal Prospects Hockey League).  The Port Huron Prowlers, and the Battle Creek Rumble Bees both compete in the Western Division of the FPHL, but each team is having a much different season.  The FPHL was formerly known as the FHL (Federal Hockey League).
     The Port Huron Prowlers are currently in 2nd place in the FPHL Western Division standings with 77 points, and an overall record of 23-14-4 (4 overtime wins).  The Battle Creek Rumble Bees are currently in 5th place in the FPHL Western Division standings with 4 points, and an overall record of 1-40-1 (1 overtime loss).  The Battle Creek Rumble Bees are an FPHL expansion team.
     There are currently 10 teams competing in the 2019-2020 FPHL season.  The Carolina Thunderbirds have the best overall record in the FPHL with 97 points, and an overall record of 30-6-2-3 (2 overtime wins, and 3 overtime losses).  The Carolina Thunderbirds are the defending FPHL Champions.  The Carolina Thunderbirds compete in the Western Division of the FPHL.

-  The team that wins the FPHL Championship gets to hoist the Commissioner's Cup.



-  #51 Matt Graham leads the Port Huron Prowlers in points with 65.  Graham has scored 17 goals, and recorded 48 assists this season.  



-  #92 Dalton Jay leads the Port Huron Prowlers in goals with 26.  Jay has also recorded 28 assists this season.



-  #9 Marco Luciani leads the Battle Creek Rumble Bees in points with 17.  Luciani has scored 8 goals, and recorded 9 assists this season.



-  #91 Stavros Soilis leads the Battle Creek Rumble Bees in goals with 9.  Soilis has also recorded 6 assists this season.

FPHL Adds Battle Creek







     The 2019-2020 FPHL (Federal Prospects Hockey League) season will feature 10 teams including the Battle Creek Rumble Bees, the Carolina Thunderbirds, the Columbus River Dragons (Columbus, Georgia), the Danbury Hat Tricks, the Danville Dashers, the Delaware Thunder, the Elmira Enforcers, the Mentor Ice Breakers, the Port Huron Prowlers, and the Watertown Wolves.  The FPHL was formerly known as the FHL (Federal Hockey League).
     The 2019-2020 Federal Prospects Hockey League is divided into two divisions known as the Eastern Division, and the Western Division.  There were only six teams that competed in the 2018-2019 FHL season.  The Carolina Thunderbirds defeated the Elmira Enforcers three games to one to win the 2019 Commissioner's Cup (FHL Championship).

-  The FPHL is a professional hockey league.



-  The 2019-2020 FPHL Preseason begins on Friday, October 18th.



-  The Battle Creek Rumble Bees recently held a tryout, and signed 10 players.  Former Eastern Michigan University Goaltender Kevin O'Shea, and former Eastern Michigan University Defenseman Aaron Bessey both signed with the Rumble Bees.



-  The Battle Creek Rumble Bees, the Columbus River Dragons (Columbus, Georgia), the Danbury Hat Tricks, and the Delaware Thunder are all 2019-2020 FPHL expansion teams.  



- The St. Clair Shores Fighting Saints competed in the FHL during the 2016-2017 season.



-  The Danbury Titans, and the Delaware Federals are also dormant franchises that competed in the FHL.



-  The Port Huron Prowlers played their first season in the FHL in 2015-2016.



-  The Port Huron Prowlers won the 2016 Commissioner's Cup (FHL Championship).
