FPHL Adds Motor City

 

     The Motor City Rockers will compete as an expansion team in the 2020-2021 FPHL (Federal Prospects Hockey League) season.  The 2020-2021 FPHL season will feature ten teams as the Motor City Rockers are replacing the Battle Creek Rumble Bees.  Battle Creek is dormant after only competing in one FPHL season in 2019-2020.  The Rumble Bees finished the 2019-2020 FPHL season with an overall record of 1-45-2 (2 overtime losses).  

     The Motor City Rockers will compete in the FPHL Western Division against four other teams including the Carolina Thunderbirds, the Columbus River Dragons (Georgia), the Danville Dashers, and the Port Huron Prowlers.  The FPHL Eastern Division will feature five teams including the Danbury Hat Tricks, the Delaware Thunder, the Elmira Enforcers, the Mentor Ice Breakers, and the Watertown Wolves.

     The Motor City Rockers will play their home games at Fraser Hockeyland located at 34400 Utica Road, in Fraser.  Adam Stio is the President of the Motor City Rockers, and Kahlil Thomas has been named as the Rockers Head Coach.  The Rockers uniform color is mostly purple.

Ice Dogs vs. Monarchs

On Saturday, the Motor City Monarchs defeated the Michigan Ice Dogs (in white) 4-1.

     On Saturday, the Motor City Monarchs defeated the Michigan Ice Dog 4-1 at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena. Both teams compete in the MWJHL (Midwest Junior Hockey League), and Saturday's game marked the final regular season game for both clubs.  The 2014-2015 MWJHL Playoffs begin this weekend, and all 7 teams have qualified for the postseason.  The Motor City Monarchs will host the Michigan Ice Dogs in a best of three game series, and the Monarchs will have the home ice advantage for the entire series.  Game 1 is scheduled for Friday March 13th, puck drops at 7:15 p.m.
     The Motor City Monarchs finished the 2014-2015 regular season in 2nd place in the MWJHL standings with 66 points, and an overall record of 33-13.  The Monarchs play all of their home games at the Fraser Hockeyland located at 34400 Utica Road.  Click on the link below for more information about the Motor City Monarchs.
     The Michigan Ice Dogs finished the 2014-2015 regular season in 7th place in the MWJHL standings with 33 points, and an overall record of 15-31 (3 shootout losses).  The Ice Dogs play all of their home games at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena located at 35500 W. 8 Mile Road.  Click on the link below for more information about the Michigan Ice Dogs, or the Midwest Junior Hockey League.

Both teams compete in the Midwest Junior Hockey League.  Both teams have qualified for the 2014-2015 Playoffs.

Games can become physical when rivals get together on the ice!

#13 Trevor Pode scored 33 goals in 36 games this season.  Pode added 43 assists for a total of 76 points.

Monarchs Hockey

The MC Monarchs (in white) are in 2nd place in the MWJHL standings with 48 points, and an overall record of 24-10.

     The MWJHL (Midwest Junior Hockey League) includes 7 junior hockey teams from our local area.  The Traverse City Hounds have dominated the league for three seasons, but the expansion of the league has created some serious competition. The MC Monarchs are playing their 1st season in the Midwest Junior Hockey league, and they currently find themselves in 2nd place in the MWJHL standings with 48 points, and an overall record of 24-10.  The MC Monarchs play all of their home games at Fraser Hockeyland located on 34400 Utica Road.

On December 5th, 2014, the MC Monarchs (in white) played the Michigan Ice Dogs.  Both teams compete in the MWJHL.

The game was played at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena.  The Ice Dogs play all of their home games there.

The Ice Dogs are currently in 5th place in the MWJHL standings with 27 points, and an overall record of 12-18.

The MC Monarchs defeated the Michigan Ice Dogs 9-2.
