Trey Burke began the 2023-2024 season playing Point Guard in the NBA G League for the Mexico City Capitanes. Burke was injured earlier in the season and has remained on the inactive list since December. Trey Burke played college basketball for the University of Michigan from 2011-2013. The Minnesota Timberwolves selected Trey Burke in the first round (9th overall pick) of the 2013 NBA Draft, but Burke was immediately traded to the Utah Jazz. Trey Burke was born in Columbus, Ohio.
The Mexico City Capitanes are currently in 5th place in the NBA G League Western Conference standings with an overall record of 9-5. The Capitanes roster also features Forward Juan Toscano-Anderson, and Forward Kenneth Faried (also known as "the Manimal").
