Pictures of 2022



We checked out the USA NTDP U-18 Team in January.




The USA NTDP U-17 Team was also featured on the Mitten State Sports Report.



We visited the 2022 Plymouth Ice Festival in February.



We attended college baseball games at Eastern Michigan University.



Five Eastern Michigan University baseball games were featured on the Mitten State Sports Report.



We traveled to Ann Arbor to watch the Concordia University baseball team.



We went to see the Detroit Tigers in May.



We checked out LCFC (Livonia City Football Club).



We went to see Oakland County FC in June.




Three Oakland County FC games were featured on the Mitten State Sports Report.





We went to 2022 Cruisin' Hines.





The USPBL was featured on the Mitten State Sports Report in September.



We checked out the weekly Classic Car Show at Blue Sky Ice Cream & Hamburgers  





We saw the Motor City Rockers.





We watched the Motor City Gamblers.



The Detroit Catholic Central hockey team was featured on the Mitten State Sports Report.

Beavers Win Title

 


The Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers won the 2022 USPBL Championship.




     On Sunday, September 11th, the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers defeated the Utica Unicorns 8-6 to win the 2022 USPBL (United Shore Professional Baseball League) Championship.  Beavers Catcher #16 Felix Aberouette was named MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the Championship Game.  Aberouette went 4-5 with 3 home runs, and 5 RBI (runs batted in).  

     The Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers also defeated the Westside Woolly Mammoths 18-5 in the 2022 USPBL Semifinals.  The Beavers finished the 2022 USPBL regular season with the second-best overall record at 22-22.  The Utica Unicorns finished the 2022 USPBL regular season with the best overall record at 28-16.

-  The Westside Woolly Mammoths defeated the Eastside Diamond Hoppers 6-4 in the 1st round of the 2022 USPBL Playoffs.   


-  Beavers Pitcher #6 James Krick earned the win in the Championship Game.  


-  Beavers Pitcher #35 Nick Shaw picked up the save in the Championship Game.  Nick Shaw is from Coldwater, Michigan. 


-  The Beavers also won the USPBL Championship in 2017, and in 2018.


-  The Utica Unicorns won the USPBL Championship in 2016, 2019, 2020, and in 2021. 


-  The USPBL plays their games at Jimmy John's Field located at 7171 Auburn Road, in Utica.

Beavers vs. Unicorns

     On Saturday, September 3rd, the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers played the Utica Unicorns in a doubleheader at Jimmy John's Field in Utica.  The Unicorns defeated the Beavers 4-4 in a "Sudden Death" format in the first game of the doubleheader.  The Beavers beat the Unicorns 4-2 in the second game of the doubleheader.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs of USPBL (United Shore Professional Baseball League) action in Utica. 

     The Utica Unicorns finished the 2022 USPBL regular season in 1st place in the East Division standings with an overall record of 28-16.  The Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers finished the 2022 USPBL regular season in 1st place in the West Division standings with an overall record of 22-22.  Championship Weekend runs from September 9th - September 11th.

The Beavers played the Unicorns in a doubleheader on Saturday.

-  The Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers are scheduled to play on Saturday night against the winner of the Eastside Diamond Hoppers vs. Westside Woolly Mammoths game scheduled for Friday night. 


-  The Utica Unicorns have earned a spot in the Championship Game scheduled for this Sunday at 1:05 p.m. 


-  The Eastside Diamond Hoppers finished the 2022 USPBL regular season in 2nd place in the East Division standings with an overall record of 21-23.  


-  The Westside Woolly Mammoths finished the 2022 USPBL regular season in 2nd place in the West Division standings with an overall record of 17-27.

USPBL News: June 2022

 






     The 2022 USPBL (United Shore Professional Baseball League) season features four teams including the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers, the Eastside Diamond Hoppers, the Utica Unicorns, and the Westside Woolly Mammoths.  The Utica Unicorns won the 2021 USPBL Championship.  The Unicorns also won the USPBL Championship in 2016, 2019, and in 2020.  

     The Utica Unicorns are currently in 1st place in the USPBL East Division with an overall record of 10-1.  The Eastside Diamond Hoppers are currently in 2nd place in the USPBL East Division with an overall record of 4-7.  The Westside Woolly Mammoths are currently in 1st place in the USPBL West Division with an overall record of 5-6.  The Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers are currently in 2nd place in the USPBL West Division with an overall record of 3-8. 

     The Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers roster includes two players from the state of Michigan including Pitcher #20 Zach Devon (Redford), and Pitcher #35 Nick Shaw (Coldwater).  The Westside Wooly Mammoths roster also includes two players from the state of Michigan including Catcher #13 Nick Caruso (Sterling Heights), and Pitcher #19 Greg Loukinen (Berkley).  

     The Eastside Diamond Hoppers roster includes five players from the state of Michigan including Pitcher #6 Carson Ferry (Paw Paw), Catcher #24 Whit Hughes (Emmett), Utility Player #5 Noah Marcoux (Saginaw), Pitcher #27 Andrew Verbrugge (Grand Rapids), and Pitcher #14 Jacob Wosinski (Ada).  The Utica Unicorns roster includes no players from the state of Michigan.

-  The USPBL played their inaugural season in 2016.  


-  Andy Appleby is the CEO, and owner of the USPBL. 


-  The 2022 USPBL All-Star Game is scheduled for Saturday, July 9th, at 5:30 p.m.   


-  The 2022 USPBL Championship Game is scheduled for Sunday, September 11th, at 1:05 p.m.


-  All USPBL games are played at Jimmy John's Field located at 7171 Auburn Road, in Utica.

Pictures of 2021

 


Eight USA NTDP games were featured on the Mitten State Sports Report in 2021.



We visited the 2021 Plymouth Ice Festival in February.



We checked out the Eastern Michigan University baseball team in April.



Five Eastern Michigan University baseball games were featured on the Mitten State Sports Report in 2021.



We watched college baseball in Ann Arbor.  Concordia University defeated Rochester University 15-4.





We watched Vintage Base Ball at Greenfield Village.



Five Vintage Base Ball games were featured on the Mitten State Sports Report in 2021.



We went to Motor Muster 2021 at Greenfield Village.



It's always fun to go to the Classic Car Show at the VFW Post 345 in Redford.



The Classic Car Show at the VFW Post 345 was featured on the Mitten State Sports Report three times in 2021.




USPBL games in Utica are always a good time in the Summer. 




We checked out the "Driven To Win" exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum.



We went back to Greenfield Village for the Old Car Festival



We took in a college soccer game in Southfield.




The USPHL was featured on the Mitten State Sports Report in November.



We watched the University of Dearborn Wolverines defeat Cleary University Cougars 2-1.
