CN900 Dormant

 



     CN900 (Comcast Network TV) is now dormant.  Regular scheduled programs on CN900 were replaced with paid advertisements a few weeks ago and now the station is unavailable.  Several shows on CN900 were featured on the Mitten State Sports Report over the years including "Classic All-Star Wrestling", "Ferris Sports Update", "Midwest Outdoors", and "Super Yoopers".  

      CN900 also aired live USA NTDP (National Team Develpment Program) games, and Wayne State University basketball, and football games.  Other popular shows on CN900 included "Bronco Review", "Heartland Poker", "Raceline", and "Rock 900".  CN900 was known as Comcast Local before the switch from analog to digital television in 2009.

Harris Rushed For 327 Yards




      On Saturday, October 30th, Wayne State University Running Back #7 Myren Harris carried the ball 20 times for 327 yards, and 4 touchdowns in a 56-21 victory over the Northwood University Timberwolves.  Harris broke a Wayne State University single game rushing record that was currently held by former Warriors Running Back #24 Toney Davis.  Harris also earned the GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) Offensive Player of the Week with his performance at home on Saturday night.  Myren Harris currently leads the Warriors in rushing this season with 1,028 yards, and 9 touchdowns.  The Wayne State Warriors improved their overall record to 2-7.

Warriors Football On CN900

 



     Live, an archived Wayne State University football games can be seen throughout the week on CN900 (Comcast Network TV).  The next live broadcast is scheduled for Saturday, October 30th at 6:00 p.m. when the Wayne State University Warriors host the Northwood University Timberwolves.  The Warriors currently have a conference record of 1-3, and an overall record of 1-7.  The Wayne State University football team is a NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division II program, and the Warriors compete in the GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference).

      Redshirt Freshman #7 Myren Harris leads the Warriors rushing attack this season with 701 yards, and 5 touchdowns.  The Warriors have given time to three different quarterbacks this season including Graduate #18 Jake AmRhein, Redshirt Junior #14 Chase Churchill, and Redshirt Freshman #12 Josh Kulka.  Redshirt Sophomore #13 Trevonte Davis leads the Warriors in reception yards this season with 568.  Davis has also accumulated 5 receiving touchdowns.

-  The Warriors play their home games at Tom Adams Field in Detroit. 


-  Wayne State defeated Davenport 16-3 on the road for the Warriors only victory of the season.


-  The Warriors have three games left this season.  Two home games vs. Northwood, and Grand Valley State, and a road game against Ferris State to end the season.

Will Pittman Make The Cut?




     #57 Anthony Pittman is trying to make the Detroit Lions 53 man active roster as a linebacker for the 2021-2022 NFL (National Football League) season.  Pittman spent much of the last two seasons on the Lions practice squad, but Pittman was activated for one Lions regular season game in 2019.  Anthony Pittman played his college football career at Wayne State University.  Pittman also played high school football at Birmingham Groves High School.  Anthony Pittman went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Roberson In Arizona

 



     Darece Roberson Jr. was recently signed as a free agent to play wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals.  Roberson Jr. played college football at Wayne State University from 2016-2019.  In 2019, Roberson Jr. recorded 34 catches for 706 yards, and 9 touchdowns.  Roberson Jr. even scored on a 96 yard kickoff return.  Darece Roberson Jr. also played High School football at (Muskegon) Mona Shores High School.  Darece Roberson Jr. went undrafted in the 2020 NFL (National Football League) Draft.

G-League Team In Detroit




     The city of Detroit will soon have its own NBA G-League team known as the Motor City Cruise.  The Cruise will play their home games at a new facility that's being constructed on the campus of Wayne State University.  The Motor City Cruise are scheduled to debut in the NBA G-League during the 2021-2022 season.  The Cruise have not yet named their Head Coach.  

     The Motor City Cruise will be a direct affiliate of the Detroit Pistons.  The Pistons purchased the Northern Arizona Suns back in July so they could move the team to Detroit.  The Northern Arizona Suns were an affiliate of the Phoenix Suns.  The Grand Rapids Drive were previously an affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, but the future of the Drive is now unclear.

Warriors Hoops On CN900







     Wayne State University Men's, and Women's basketball home games will once again be broadcast live on CN900 (Comcast Network TV).  The Wayne State University Warriors will host the Northern Michigan University Wildcats on Thursday, January 3rd, 2019.  The Women's game is scheduled to tip off at 5:30 p.m. followed by the Men's game at 7:30 p.m.
     The Wayne State University Men's basketball team currently has an overall record of 1-7, and the Women's basketball team has an overall record of 7-5.  Wayne State University is a NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division II program, and the Warriors compete in the GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference).

College Baseball: EMU vs. WSU





Last Wednesday, Eastern Michigan University defeated Wayne State University 10-6.











     Last Wednesday, the Eastern Michigan University baseball team hosted, and defeated the Wayne State University Warriors 10-6.  The game was played at Oestrike Stadium, in Ypsilanti.  #9 Brent Mattson pitched 3.1 innings, allowed 2 earned runs, and was credited with the win.  #25 Jake Davis pitched 1 inning, allowed 2 earned runs, and was charged with the loss.  Scroll down to check out exclusive photos from last Wednesday's college baseball showdown.

EMU vs. Wayne State





Wayne State (in dark green) visited the Taylor Sportsplex on Friday night to battle Eastern Michigan (in white)!





Freshman goaltender #1 Brian Ellis saw time in net for the Eagles! 







#30 Brennan Knoblock was solid in net for the Warriors!  He allowed 3 goals, but made 22 saves against the Eagles!





Both teams played a physical brand of hockey! 





 Although these schools play in separate Conferences', they're still in state rivals! 





Wayne State lead 3-2 after two periods.  The Warriors held the lead through most of the third period as well!





EMU's #21 Clayton Hodges tied the game at three in the third period!  The game went into overtime!





Wayne State scored in overtime to escape with the 4-3 victory!  #1 Brian Ellis was left in disbelief!

Wayne State 4 - EMU 3 in OT





Wayne State defeated Eastern Michigan 4-3 in overtime on Friday night!  This was the game winning goal!








     On Friday night (November 8th), the world of opportunity known as Wayne State University came into the Taylor Sportsplex and handed Eastern Michigan University a 4-3 loss in overtime.  EMU's #21 Clayton Hodges scored in the third period to tie the game at three, but the Warriors scored with 2:23 left to play in the overtime period, handing the Eagles their 10th loss of the season.  Wayne State also defeated Eastern Michigan last night 4-1.  The Eagles currently have an overall record of 6-11, but are still 5-4 in the GLCHL (Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League).  Wayne State competes in the Independent Conference along with six other teams, and have an overall record of 10-4.  Both schools compete in Division 1 of the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association).  For more information about the Eastern Michigan University hockey team, the Wayne State University hockey club,  the Taylor Sportsplex, the ACHA, or the GLCHL click on the links below.  Be sure to check out exclusive photos of Friday nights game only on the Mitten State Sports Report.  Click on past months to view all of the Mitten State Sports Reports archived material.  You can always leave a comment, or you can email the Mitten State Sports Report directly at mittenstatesportsreport@rocketmail.com
