Ice Dogs Are Wild!

The Michigan Ice Dogs (in white) will now be known as the Michigan Wild!  The MWJHL has merged with the USPHL.

The Michigan Ice Dogs will now be known as the Michigan Wild for the 2015-2016 season.  The Ice Dogs have played the past three seasons in the MWJHL (Midwest Junior Hockey League), but the MWJHL has merged with the USPHL (United States Premier Hockey League) to form a new Midwest Division.  The MWJHL only featured 7 teams during the 2014-2015 season, but the new USPHL Midwest Division will include 18 teams. The Wild will compete in the Eastern Conference with former MWJHL foes like the Alpena Flyers, and the Detroit Fighting Irish, but new opponents such as the Indiana Attack, and the Kalkaska Rhinos will now appear on the Michigan Wild schedule.  Click on the links below for more information about the Michigan Wild, or the USPHL.
The Motor City Monarchs played last season in the MWJHL, and they will now be known as the Motor City Hawks.  The Hawks will join the Michigan Wild in the Eastern Conference of the USPHL.  The Hawks will continue their rivalry with the Traverse City Hounds, but the Hawks will now face new opponents like the Tri-City Ice Hawks, and the Marquette Royales.  Click on the link below for more information about the Motor City Hawks.
The Soo Firehawks have played the past three seasons in the MWJHL, but the Firehawks are calling it quits.  The team has ceased operations, and owners Doug, and Paula Goudreau have issued a statement on the Soo Firehawks website.  Click on the link below for more information about the Soo Firehawks.
