FSD Will Be Bally Sports Detroit




     FSD (Fox Sports Detroit) will change to Bally Sports Detroit on March 31st, 2021.  On-air personalities, and team coverage are expected to remain the same, but the graphics, and the logo are going to be different.  Bally Sports Detroit is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, and Bally's Corporation.

Matasovic In Iceland

 



     #31 Mario Matasovic is currently playing Forward in Urvalsdeild karla (Iceland) for UMF Njardvik.  Matasovic played college basketball at Western Michigan University from 2013-2015.  Mario Mastovic went undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft.  Mario Matasovic was born in Croatia.  

     UMF Njardvik is currently in 10th place in the 2020-2021 Urvalsdeild karla standings with 10 points, and an overall record of 5-11.  The 2020-2021 UMF Njardvik roster also includes Rodney Glasgow, Antonio Hester, and Kyle Johnson.  There are 12 teams competing in the 2020-2021 Urvalsdeild karla season.  Keflavic IF is currently in 1st place in the 2020-2021 Urvalsdeild karla standings with 28 points, and an overall record of 14-2.

USA 4-2 Youngstown



On Friday, March 19th, the USA NTDP U-17 Team defeated the Youngstown Phantoms 4-2.






     On Friday, March 19th, the USA NTDP (National Team Development Program) U-17 Team defeated the Youngstown Phantoms 4-2.  Both teams compete against each other in the Eastern Conference of the USHL (United States Hockey League).  Friday night's game was played at the USA Hockey Arena located at 14900 Beck Road, in Plymouth.  

     Team USA is currently in 4th place in the USHL Eastern Conference standings with 42 points, and an overall record of 18-13-3-3 (3 overtime losses, and 3 shootout losses).  The Youngstown Phantoms are currently in 6th place in the USHL Eastern Conference standings with 19 points, and an overall record of 7-23-3-2 (3 overtime losses, and 2 shootout losses).  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs from last night's hockey game in Plymouth.

Minnerath In KBL




     Nick Minnerath is currently playing Forward in the KBL (Korean Basketball League) for the Seoul SK Knights.  Minnerath played college basketball at the University of Detroit from 2010-2013.  Minnerath averaged 14.6 points per game, and 5.9 rebounds per game in his (Redshirt) Senior season with the Titans.  Nick Minnerath also played college basketball at Jackson College from 2008-2010.  Nick Minnerath went undrafted in the 2013 NBA Draft.   

     The Seoul SK Knights are currently in 9th place in the Korean Basketball League standings with an overall record of 19-28.  There are 10 teams competing in the 2020-2021 Korean Basketball League.  The Jeonju KCC Egis is currently in 1st place in the 2020-2021 Korean Basketball League standings with an overall record of 32-15.

Daye In LBA

 



     #9 Austin Daye is currently playing Forward in the Lega Basket Serie A (Italy) for Umana Reyer Venezia.  Austin Daye played for the Detroit Pistons from 2009-2013.  The Detroit Pistons selected Daye with the 15th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.  Austin Daye was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in 2013. The Grizzlies also acquired Tayshaun Prince in the trade. 

     Umana Reyer Venezia is currently in 5th place in the 2020-2021 Lega Basket Serie A standings with 24 points, and an overall record of 12-8.  The 2020-2021 Umana Reyer Venezia roster also features Wes Clark, Jeremy Chappell, Isaac Fotu, Stefano Tonut, and Mitchell Watt.  There are 15 teams competing in the 2020-2021 Lega Basket Serie A.  Olimpia Milano is currently in 1st place in the Lega Basket Serie A standings with 34 points, and an overall record of 17-3.

Keene In Estonia

 



     Marcus Keene is currently playing Point Guard in Estonia for BC Kalev/Cramo.  Keene played college basketball at Central Michigan University during the 2016-2017 season.  Marcus Keene averaged 30.0 points per game for the Chippewas during the 2016-2017 season.  Keene went undrafted in the 2017 NBA Draft.  Marcus Keene was born in Germany.

     BC Kalev/Cramo competes in three different leagues including the Korvpalli Meistriliiga, the Estonian-Latvian Basketball League, and the VTB United League.  The 2020-2021 BC Kalev/Cramo roster also includes Martin Dorbek, Maurice Kemp, Chavaughn Lewis, Devin Thomas, and Marques Townes.

Felder In CBA

 



     #5 Kay Felder is currently playing Point Guard in the CBA (Chinese Basketball Association) for the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions.  Kay Felder played college basketball at Oakland University from 2013-2016.  Felder averaged 24.4 points per game in his Junior season with the Golden Grizzlies.  Felder was selected by the Atlanta Hawks in the second round (54th overall pick) of the 2016 NBA Draft.  Kay Felder also played High School basketball at Pershing High School.  Kay Felder is from Detroit, Michigan.  

     The Zhejiang Guangsha Lions are currently in 6th place in the 2020-2021 CBA standings with an overall record of 25-19.  The Lions roster also includes Wilson Chandler, Hu Jinqiu, and Miroslav Raduljica.  The Guangdong Southern Tigers are currently in 1st place in the 2020-2021 CBA standings with an overall record of 39-5.  Wilson Chandler was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan.

Thompson IV In BBL




     James Thompson IV is currently playing Forward/Center in the Basketball Bundesliga League (Germany) for the Telekom Baskets Bonn.  James Thompson IV played college basketball for the Eastern Michigan University Eagles from 2015-2019.   Thompson IV is the all-time leading rebounder for Eastern Michigan University with 1,452 career boards.  

     Telekom Baskets Bonn is currently in 10th place in the 2020-2021 Basketball Bundesliga League standings with an overall record of 8-13.  There are currently 18 teams competing in the 2020-2021 Basketball Bundesliga League.

Teske Wins With Lakeland




     #15 Jon Teske played Center this season for the Lakeland Magic.  On Thursday, March 11th, the Lakeland Magic defeated the Delaware Blue Coats 97-78 to win the 2021 NBA G-League Championship.  Teske scored 12 points for the Magic in the Championship Game.  Jon Teske played college basketball for the University of Michigan Wolverines from 2016-2020.

     The 2021 NBA G-League season consisted of a 15 game regular season followed by a 3 round single-elimination postseason tournament.  The Lakeland Magic were seeded #6th in the 2021 NBA G-League Playoffs after finishing 9-6 during the regular season.

     Forward/Center #24 Matt Costello is currently playing in Liga Endesa (Spain) for Herbalife Gran Canaria.  Matt Costello played college basketball for the Michigan State University Spartans from 2012-2016.  Costello also played High School basketball at Bay City Western High School.  Matt Costello was born in Linwood, Michigan.

Former Whalers In Carolina

 


Alex Nedeljkovic has seen time in net this season with the Carolina Hurricanes.





     Alex Nedeljkovic, and Vincent Trocheck were teammates on the Plymouth Whalers during the 2012-2013 OHL (Ontario Hockey League) season.  Both players are now having success in the NHL (National Hockey League) with the Carolina Hurricanes.  Alex Nedeljkovic has seen time in net this season due to the injury of former Detroit Red Wings Goalie Peter Mrazek.  Vincent Trocheck is playing in his first full season in Carolina after the Hurricanes acquired him in a trade with the Florida Panthers in February of 2020. 

     Alex Nedeljkovic has started 7 games this season, and currently has an overall record of 4-2-1 (1 overtime loss).  Nedeljkovic earned one of his four victories this season against the Detroit Red Wings.  Vincent Trocheck has played in 23 games this season, and currently has 22 points with 13 goals, and 9 assists.  Trocheck has scored 125 goals so far during his NHL career. 

     Alex Nedeljkovic also spent time with the Flint Firebirds during the 2015-2016 OHL season before he was traded to the Niagara IceDogs.  Vincent Trocheck spent over three seasons with Saginaw Spirit before he was traded to the Plymouth Whalers during the 2012-2013 OHL season.

Dubuque 3-2 USA - SO

 


On Friday March 5th, the Dubuque Fighting Saints defeated the USA NTDP U-18 Team 3-2. 





     On Friday, March 5th, the Dubuque Fighting Saints defeated the USA NTDP (National Team Development Program) U-18 Team 3-2 in a shootout.  The game ended in controversial fashion when it appeared that Team USA had scored to tie the game during the shootout, but the goal was disallowed after a brief meeting with the officials.  Dubuque Forward #22 Matthew Savoie scored the only goal in the shootout.   

     Both teams compete against each other in the Eastern Conference of the USHL (United States Hockey League).  The USA NTDP plays their home games at the USA Hockey Arena located at 14900 Beck Road, in Plymouth.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs from Friday night's USHL game.

Racing Returns April 2nd



The 2021 Live Harness Racing season at Northville Downs is scheduled to kick off on Friday, April 2nd.






     The 2021 Live Harness Racing season at Northville Downs is scheduled to kick off on Friday, April 2nd (post time 7:30 p.m.)  Northville Downs is also open everyday from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. for Simulcast Racing.  Northville Downs is located at 301 S. Center Street, in Northville.
