| On Friday March 5th, the Dubuque Fighting Saints defeated the USA NTDP U-18 Team 3-2. |
On Friday, March 5th, the Dubuque Fighting Saints defeated the USA NTDP (National Team Development Program) U-18 Team 3-2 in a shootout. The game ended in controversial fashion when it appeared that Team USA had scored to tie the game during the shootout, but the goal was disallowed after a brief meeting with the officials. Dubuque Forward #22 Matthew Savoie scored the only goal in the shootout.
Both teams compete against each other in the Eastern Conference of the USHL (United States Hockey League). The USA NTDP plays their home games at the USA Hockey Arena located at 14900 Beck Road, in Plymouth. Scroll down to see exclusive photographs from Friday night's USHL game.
Team USA is currently in 4th place in the USHL Eastern Conference standings with 38 points, and an overall record of 16-12-3-3 (3 overtime losses, and 3 shootout losses). The Dubuque Fighting Saints are currently in 5th place in the USHL Eastern Conference standings with 30 points, and an overall record of 14-16-2-0 (2 overtime losses).
