Last Saturday, the University of Michigan Dearborn Wolverines defeated the Michigan State University Spartans 6-2. The game was part of the annual Thanksgiving weekend tournament known as the Great Lakes Showcase. The Wolverines outshot the Spartans 57-29. Both teams compete in the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association), but the Wolverines play in Division 1, and the Spartans play in Division 3. The Michigan State University Spartans currently have an overall record of 9-7. The Spartans are in 9th place in the MCHC (Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference) with 19 points. The Spartans also have an ACHA Division 2 hockey team, and a NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division I hockey team that competes in the Big Ten Conference.
