| The University of Michigan Dearborn Wolverines earned two victories against the Niagara University Purple Eagles. |
On Friday, the University of Michigan Dearborn Wolverines defeated the Niagara University Purple Eagles 4-1. The Wolverines went on to defeat the Purple Eagles 3-2 last night. Both teams compete in Division 1 of the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association), but the schools are placed in separate Conferences. - Friday night's game was the opening game of the 2016-2017 season for the Wolverines.

- The American Collegiate Hockey Association is still referred to as club hockey.
- The ACHA unveiled a new logo on August 8th. It's their 3rd logo in the league's 25 year history.
