Ragnow Makes Pro Bowl

The 2023 NFL (National Football League) Pro Bowl rosters were unveiled on Wednesday, December 21st.  Lions Center #77 Frank Ragnow was the only player from Detroit that was voted onto the NFC (National Football Conference) roster.  Frank Ragnow was also voted to the 2021 Pro Bowl.  The Detroit Lions selected Frank Ragnow in the 1st round (20th overall pick) of the 2018 NFL Draft.  Frank Ragnow was born in Victoria, Minnesota.

Nine Detroit Lions players were selected as alternates to the 2023 Pro Bowl roster including (1st alternate) Wide Receiver #14 Amon-Ra St. Brown, (1st alternate) Offensive Tackle #58 Penei Sewell, (3rd alternate) Quarterback #16 Jared Goff, (4th alternate) Offensive Guard #73 Jonah Jackson, (4th alternate) Running Back #30 Jamaal Williams, (4th alternate) Fullback #45 Jason Cabinda, (4th alternate) Punt Returner #11 Kalif Raymond, (5th alternate) Offensive Tackle #68 Taylor Decker, and (5th alternate) Defensive End #97 Aidan Hutchinson.

The 2023 NFL Pro Bowl is scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 5th at 3:00 p.m. in Paradise, Nevada.  A non-contact flag football game, and skills competitions have replaced the traditional all-star game that was once played in Honolulu, Hawaii.

On Saturday, December 24th, the Carolina Panthers defeated the Detroit Lions 37-23.  The Detroit Lions are currently in 2nd place in the NFC North Division standings with an overall record of 7-8.  The Lions are still alive for a spot in the 2022-2023 NFL Playoffs.  Detroit needs to win both of their final two games, but the Lions also need the Washington Commanders (7-7-1), and the Seattle Seahawks (7-8) to both lose at least one game each.
