V8's News: January 2023

On Saturday, January 14th, the Motor City V8's defeated the Denver Nightwings 26-17 at home in the first game of the SFL (Simulation Football League) 20th Season.  V8's Quarterback #15 Ibrahim Krieta was named MVP (Most Valuable Player) of Saturday's game.  Krieta completed 26 of 33 passing attempts for 270 yards, and 2 touchdowns.

The V8's defense recorded 6 interceptions on Saturday against rookie Quarterback #10 Gene Struthers.  V8's Cornerback #27 King Rashid accumulated 3 interceptions.  V8's Wide Receiver #86 Guy Clawson contributed 91 receiving yards, and 1 touchdown.  Guy Clawson played Tight End for the Motor City V8's last season.  V8's Kicker #17 Caleb Richards converted all four of his field goal attempts on Saturday.

The Motor City V8's are currently in 1st place in the SFL North Division standings with an overall record of 1-0.  The V8's offensive line, and rush defense will have to improve if Motor City wants to be better than they were last season (4-8).  V8's Running Back #47 Christopher Dean only rushed for 62 yards on Saturday, and the Motor City offensive line allowed Ibrahim Krieta to be sacked 5 times.  Denver Nightwings Running Back #30 Baylee O'Shaughnessy rushed for 164 yards, and 1 touchdown on Saturday.
