LCSC Palermo 2-1 Brighton FC

LCSC Palermo (in orange) defeated Brighton FC (40) (in yellow) 2-1.

     The score was tied (1-1) with under five minutes remaining, when LCSC Palermo (in orange) struck gold with a late goal to preserve the 2-1 victory over Brighton FC 40 (in yellow).  This season, Brighton FC (40) has lost several close games during the final minutes, and on (Thursday) July 25th, Brighton FC (40) suffered their fifth divisional loss of the season at the hands of LCSC Palermo.  Thursday's game was played at Bi-Centennial Field in Livonia.  B-Centennial Field is located on the north side of 7 mile road, near Wayne road.
     LCSC Palermo is owned and operated by Frank Guerin, and is currently in sixth place (of eight teams) in the Michigan United Soccer League's (over 40) 3rd West Division with 7 points, and a divisional record of 2-4-1.  Peter Camilleri leads LCSC Palermo in scoring with 2 goals this season.  LCSC Palermo was eliminated (3-2) in the first round of the over 40 3rd & 4th Division Founders Cup Tournament, by Plymouth Township.
     Brighton FC (40) is owned and operated by Ronald Schaefer, and is currently in 7th place in the MUSL's (over 40) 3rd West Division with 7 points, and a divisional record of 2-5-1.  Brighton FC (40) was eliminated (5-0) in the first round of the over 40 3rd & 4th Division Founders Cup Tournament by the Carpathia Kickers D.

The MUSL Plays in Plymouth!

On Thursday night, Plymouth Township (in green) defeated LCSC Palermo (in orange) 6-2.

     The Michigan United Soccer League (MUSL) returned to Plymouth last night for a divisional matchup between Plymouth Township, and LCSC Palermo.  Both teams play in the over 40 3rd West Division along with six other teams including Motley's, FSC Broncos, Farmington, and the Michigan Rovers which were all featured on the Mitten State Sports Report last month.  This was the six different city that the Mitten State Sports Report has visited for MUSL action.  Those cities include Farmington Hills, Livonia, Canton, Berkley, Northville, and Plymouth.  Plymouth Township (in green) defeated LCSC Palermo (in orange) 6-2.
     Plymouth Township is owned and operated by Chris Somercik and are currently in 5th place in the over 40 3rd West Division with 6 points, and a divisional record of 2-3.  Plymouth township is lead in scoring by Caglayan Tascioglu with 3 goals, while Serhat Eren has added 2 goals.  Plymouth Township was eliminated in the second round of the 3rd and 4th Division Founders Cup Tournament by SC 1924 UV by a score of 4-2.
     LCSC Palermo is owned and operated by Frank Guerin and are currently in 7th place in the over 40 3rd West Division with 1 point, and a divisional record of 0-3-1.  LCSC Palermo has given up 13 goals (in 4 games) this season, while only scoring 4 goals of their own.  LCSC Palermo was eliminated in the first round of the 3rd and 4th Division Founders Cup Tournament by Plymouth Township by a score of 3-2.
     Lake Pointe Soccer Park in Plymouth is located off of Haggerty road, between M14, and 5 mile road.  The soccer field is surrounded by elevated hills, which make viewing a game there enjoyable for fans.  The parking area is kept away from the park area, which gives Lake Pointe Soccer Park a quiet, peaceful atmosphere.
