Hounds Went Back 2 Back!

The Traverse City Hounds won their second straight MWJHL Veterans Memorial Cup!

     On March 30th, the Traverse City Hounds defeated the Soo Firehawks 5-1 to claim their second straight Veterans Memorial Cup.  The Firehawks won the first game of the best of three series, but the Hounds rallied to win games two, and three.  Both teams finished at the top of the MWJHL (Midwest Junior Hockey League) regular season standings, so both clubs will compete in the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) National Tournament beginning today, and ending on April 20th.  The AAU National Tournament features winning teams from the MWJHL, the WSHL (Western States Hockey League), and the NSHL (Northern States Hockey League), and the tournament is being played in Las Vegas, Nevada.
     The Traverse City Hounds finished the 2013-2014 regular season with 67 points, and an overall record of 32-10 (1 overtime loss, 2 shootout losses).  The Hounds played in the city of Hartland last season, and then made the move up North for the 2013-2014 campaign.  The Hartland Hounds finished the 2012-2013 season with an overall record of 47-1.  Click on the link below for more information about the Traverse City Hounds.  Click on past months to see exclusive photos from some MWJHL games.
