The 34th annual Junior League World Series kicks off today at Heritage Park in Taylor, Michigan, and features teams from all over the world. The Czech Republic, Canada, Mexico, Curacao, Chinese Taipei, and the United States of America will all be represented in this years tournament. The Junior League World Series Championship will be played on Saturday, August 16th, and a replayed version of the game will be broadcast on ESPN 2.
The United States Pool is divided into 5 Regions. Newark, Delaware is representing the East Region, Rutherford County, North Carolina is representing the Southeast Region, Midland, Michigan is representing the Central Region, Corpus Christi, Texas is representing the Southwest Region, and Manhattan/Hermosa Beach, California is representing the West Region. The United States Championship game will be played on Thursday, August 14th, at 8:00 p.m.
The International Pool is divided into 5 Regions. Tai Chung, Chinese Taipei is representing the Asia-Pacific Region, Mexicali, Baja California is representing the Mexico Region, Brno, Czech Republic is representing the Europe & Africa Region, Willemstad, Curacao is representing the Latin America Region, and Regina, Saskatchewan is represnting the Canada Region. The International Championship game will be played on Thursday, August 14th, at 5:00 p.m.
The winner of the United States Championship will play the winner of the International Championship for the Junior League World Series Championship!
