-  The Dallas Mavericks failed to win their Division in 2010-2011.  They were seeded third in the NBA Western Conference Playoffs behind the San Antonio Spurs, and the Los Angeles Lakers.


-  The Los Angeles Lakers were 37-4 at home during the 1986-1987 NBA regular season.


-  Dirk Nowitzki's sharp shooting would win 1 game for the Mavericks in a seven game series.


-  The experience of the veterans on the 1986-1987 Lakers roster would allow them to set the tempo, and disrupt the Mavericks.


-  The Mavericks were 16-5 during the 2011 NBA Playoffs!  They won the NBA Championship!


-  The Lakers were 15-3 during the 1987 NBA Playoffs!  They won the NBA Championship!
