Bellator MMA 124

Emanuel Newton defended his Light Heavyweight World Title at Bellator 124.  Newton knocked out Joey Beltran!

Bellator 124 took place last weekend at Compuware Arena, and the event was broadcast live on Spike TV. The card featured lots of local talent including Shamir Garcia from Dearborn, Leroy Johnson from Monroe, and Tommy "feel free to hate on me" Bagnasco from Redford.  Bagnasco filled in for John Schultz in a Lightweight bout versus Ryan Couture, but Couture defeated Bagnasco in the first television fight of the evening.  Ryan Couture is the son of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) legend Randy Couture.

Emanuel Newton knocked out Joey Beltran in the main event to retain his Light Heavyweight World Title. Liam McGeary defeated Kelly Anundson in a Light Heavyweight Tournament Final to set up a future meeting against Emanuel Newton.  McGeary also earned $100,000 dollars for winning the Light Heavyweight Tournament.
Ryan Couture defeated Tommy "feel free to hate on me" Bagnasco, in a Lightweight match.  L.C. Davis defeated Zeilton Rodrigues in a Bantamweight bout.  This was Rodrigues first fight outside his native country of Brazil.
Leroy Johnson, earned a decision over Adrian Henderson in a heavyweight match.  Ben Reiter defeated Shamir Garcia in a Middleweight fight.
Mike Hernandez from Macomb defeated Thomas Vasquez in a Bantamweight bout.  Justin Jaynes defeated Reuben Baraiac from Troy in a Featherwight fight.  Sabah Homasi defeated Eric Moon from Hazel Park in a Welterweight matchup.
