Ohio 12-4 EMU

     On Saturday, April 16th, the Ohio University baseball team defeated the Eastern Michigan University Eagles 12-4 in the first game of a doubleheader.  The Bobcats also earned a 14-8 victory over the Eagles later that day in the second game of the doubleheader.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs from the first game of the doubleheader played on Saturday.

     The Ohio Bobcats also defeated the EMU Eagles 12-8 in the series opener on Friday.  The Eastern Michigan University Eagles were able to earn a 3-1 victory over the Bobcats in the series finale on Sunday afternoon.  All four games this past weekend were played at Oestrike Stadium in Ypsilanti, Michigan. 

     The Eastern Michigan University Eagles are currently in 5th place in the MAC (Mid-American Conference) standings with a conference record of 10-10, and an overall record of 14-19.  The Ohio University Bobcats are currently in 4th place in the MAC standings with a conference record of 10-10, and an overall record of 16-16.

-  Bobcats Pitcher #19 Jacob Tate earned the win in the first game on Saturday.  Tate's record this season is 2-3.  

-  Eagles Pitcher #18 Adam Falinski was charged with the loss in the first game on Saturday.  Falinski's record this season is 4-3.

-  Eagles Utility Player #24 Gabe Denton is currently batting .260 with 10 home runs, and 24 runs batted in.  

-  Eagles Infielder #26 Daniel Warkentin is currently batting .347 with 10 home runs, and 24 runs batted in.  

-  Eagles Outfielder #41 Matt Kirk is currently batting .355 with 10 home runs, and 31 runs batted in. 

-  Eric Roof is the Head Coach of the Eastern Michigan University baseball team.

Eagles Season Wrap Up

     The Eastern Michigan University baseball team finished the 2021 season in 9th place in the MAC (Mid-American Conference) standings with a conference record of 15-25, and an overall record of 21-30.  The Eagles put together an eight game winning streak during the month of May, and two players were named to the 2021 First Team All-MAC including #17 Taylor Hopkins, and #16 Mike Monahan.  Eagles Pitcher #3 Davis Feldman was named to the 2021 Second Team All-Mac.  

     Shortstop #17 Taylor Hopkins finished the 2021 season with a .306 batting average.  Hopkins also accumulated 8 home runs, and 30 runs batted in.  First Baseman #16 Mike Monahan held a .341 batting average in 82 at bats.  Pitcher Davis Feldman finished the season with a 2.75 earned run average.  Feldman struck out 58 batters in 59 innings pitched.  Feldman's record this season was 4-5.

     Utility Player #24 Gabe Denton lead the Eagles in home runs with 10.  Denton also lead the Eagles with 35 runs batted in.  Pitcher #10 Luke McGuire was the Eagles Friday night pitcher this season.  McGuire finished the 2021 season with a 5-6 record, and a 4.92 earned run average.  McGuire also struck out 42 batters in 67.2 innings pitched.

The Eagles hosted Ball State University in April.  The Cardinals finished 2nd in the MAC.  

 

#24 Gabe Denton lead the Eagles in home runs with 10.  Denton also lead the Eagles with 35 RBI.

The Eagles put together an eight game winning streak during the month of May.

#16 Mike Monahan, and #17 Taylor Hopkins were named to the 2021 First Team All-MAC.

Toledo 10-2 EMU

     On Tuesday, May 11th, the University of Toledo Rockets defeated the Eastern Michigan University Eagles 10-2.  The Eagles defeated the Rockets 6-0 earlier that day.  Both games were 7 inning games played at Oestrike Stadium in Ypsilanti.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs from Tuesday's game.

     The University of Toledo Rockets are currently in 7th place in the MAC (Mid-American Conference) standings with a conference record of 14-13, and an overall record of 16-27.  The Eastern Michigan University Eagles are currently in 8th place in the MAC standings with a conference record of 12-15, and an overall record of 18-20.  The Eagles have won eight out of their last ten games.

-  Eagles Utility Player #24 Gabe Denton has accumulated 9 home runs, and 28 runs batted in this season.  Denton also has a .364 batting average in 28 games played this season.

EMU 10-6 Ball State

     On Friday, April 16th, the Eastern Michigan University Eagles defeated the Ball State University Cardinals 10-6.  It was the opener of a four game series that was played this past weekend in Ypsilanti.  The Cardinals defeated the Eagles 13-8 on Saturday afternoon, but the Eagles won the Saturday evening game 2-1.  The Cardinals won Sunday's game against the Eagles by a score of 5-2.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs from Friday evening's game in Ypsilanti.

     The Ball State University Cardinals are currently in 1st place in the MAC (Mid-American Conference) standings with a conference record of 12-4, and an overall record of 21-11.  The Eastern Michigan University Eagles are currently in 10th place in the MAC standings with a conference record of 6-14, and an overall record of 10-19.
