On Sunday October 13th, the Cincinnati State Technical and Community College Surge visited the Schoolcraft College Ocelots in Livonia. Both teams have had a successful campaign so far this season, as the Surge came into Livonia sporting an overall record of 11-1-2. The Ocelots came into Sunday's contest with an overall record of 9-4, and with the reigning NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) Player of the Week #10 Romario Georgis on their roster. Georgis came into Sunday's game with 14 goals on the season. The Schoolcraft College men's soccer team competes in the MCCAA (Michigan Community College Athletic Association), which is a Region XII Division of the National Junior College Athletic Association. Their are four other schools currently competing in the MCCAA including Ancilla College, Lake Michigan College, Jackson Community College, and Muskegon Community College.
Cincinnati State struck first when #10 Bradley Gale scored early in the first half to give the Surge the lead. #10 Romario Georgis responded for the Ocelots with his 15th goal of the season to tie up the score. Their would be no scoring in the second half, and the game would head to overtime. #9 Kevin Walker would go on to score the game winning goal for Cincinnati State just 1 minute, and 46 seconds into overtime. Cincinnati State Technical and Community College improved to 12-1-2 on the season, and are currently ranked 9th in the NJCAA National Poll. Schoolcraft College fell to 9-5 with the loss, but remain 4-3 in the MCCAA.
