The Grand Valley State University Lakers came into the Southfield Arena on Friday night, and handed the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils a 4-3 loss in overtime. This was the fourth all time meeting between the two teams, and GVSU has won all four times (6-2 in 2010, 6-2 in 2011, 4-0 in 2012, and 4-3 on Friday night). Both teams compete in the 3rd Division of the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association), and play in the North Conference along with 27 other Colleges, and Universities. Grand Valley State is currently in second place in the North Conference with 18 points, and an overall record of 9-5. Lawrence Tech is currently towards the bottom of the North Conference with 2 points, and an overall record of 1-5. It is important to note that Lawrence Tech has played fewer games then several of the other teams in the North Conference.
