Co-Ed Indoor Soccer





On Saturday night, the Orange Team (in orange) battled the Red Team (in red) in a Co-Ed Indoor Soccer Showdown!









     The Taylor Sportsplex features 2 hockey rinks, along with 2 indoor soccer arenas.  There are several indoor soccer leagues for different age groups, and there are adult leagues for men, and women.  Co-Ed leagues are also available for kids, and adults. The Taylor Sportsplex is located at 13333 Telegraph Road.  Click on the links below for more information.
     On Saturday night, the Orange Team (in orange) battled the Red Team (in red) in a Co-Ed Indoor Soccer matchup.  The Orange Team controlled the tempo, and defeated the Red Team 7-3.  The teams played two 25 minute halves.  Scroll down to see exclusive photos from Saturday night's Co-Ed indoor soccer showdown.

Adrian 7 - EMU 5





Adrian College defeated Eastern Michigan University 7-5 on Saturday night.









     The Adrian College Bulldogs came into the Taylor Sportsplex on Saturday night ranked #6 in the Nation according to the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association) Poll.  Adrian defeated the Eastern Michigan University Eagles 7-5, but the game was a back and forth battle.  The Bulldogs opened up a 3-0 lead, but the Eagles came back, and actually lead the game late in the third period.  The Adrian Bulldogs scored 2 quick goals, and then added an empty net goal in the final minute of regulation.  Both schools compete in Division I of the ACHA, and both teams are Conference rivals in the GLCHL (Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League). Wolverine Hoops in Dearborn















     The University of Michigan Dearborn basketball team (pictured above) hosted the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers on Wednesday night.  The Racers defeated the Wolverines 65-44.  Wolverines Senior guard #2 Jamiel Strickland lead all scorers with 18 points, and #15 Ed Jenkins lead the Racers in scoring with 11 points.  #32 Jason Penn accumulated 8 rebounds on Wednesday night.  Penn is a 6'8 forward playing in his Freshman season for the Wolverines.  Scroll down to see some exclusive photos from Wednesday nights college basketball showdown.
     The University of Michigan Dearborn basketball team competes in the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics), and the team plays in the WHAC (Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference) along with 11 other schools.  The Wolverines have an overall record of 1-6, and the team is currently 0-2 in the WHAC. Bye Bye Berkley Bruins





The Berkley Bruins (in black, and yellow) have ceased operations.  










     The Berkley Bruins have become dormant.  The MWJHL (Midwest Junior Hockey League) announced on Monday that the team has ceased operations, and the Berkley Bruins will not compete in the MWJHL for the remainder of the season.  The team was scheduled to travel to Decatur over the weekend, but the Bruins never made the trip, and the team was forced to forfeit both games.  The schedule posted on  www.mwjhl.com  showed that the remainder of the Bruins games would begin at 12:00 a.m. and the games would be played at the MWJHL Arena (which does not exist).  The official website of the Berkley Bruins was not being updated, and the site as since been eliminated from cyberspace.  The Berkley Bruins will forfeit their remaining games, and a dispersal draft for all Bruins players is scheduled for tonight (7:30 p.m.).
     The Berkley Bruins lasted a little over a season in the MWJHL, and the team played all of their home games at the Berkley Ice Arena.  The Bruins compiled a 5-12 overall record this season, and the team finished the 2013-2014 season with an 11-31 (1 shootout loss) overall record.  Financial instability is believed to be the reason for the termination of the organization.  Click on www.mwjhl.com for more information.  Scroll down to relive the memories of the Berkley Bruins.










The Berkley Bruins won't be celebrating any more goals.  The Bruins are defunct, and they'll forfeit the rest of their games.
 




The fans of the Berkley Bruins will have to find another team to cheer for!






The Berkley Bruins played all of their games at the Berkley Ice Arena.  





The Berkley Bruins compiled an overall record of 5-12 during the 2014-2015 season.  The Bruins finished 11-31 last season.

25 Years of Whalers





The Plymouth Whalers play all of their home games at Compuware Arena in Plymouth.. 









     The Plymouth Whalers have existed for 25 years as a hockey organization affiliated with the OHL (Ontario Hockey League).  They've been known as Ambassadors, Junior Red Wings, and Detroit Whalers, and the team has called Compuware Arena their home since the 1996-1997 season. Concordia Falls on Sr. Day 17-6





Robert Morris University (in white) defeated Concordia University (in red) 17-6.  The game was played yesterday.











     It was a chilly afternoon in Ann Arbor yesterday, but the Concordia Cardinals were fired up for Senior Day. The Cardinals welcomed in the #23rd ranked team in the Nation according to the NAIA Poll.  The Robert Morris University Eagles came into Cardinal Field with a 2-3 record in the MSFA (Mid-States Football Association), and an overall record of 7-3.
     The defense stepped up for both teams, and the score was tied 6-6 at halftime.  Eagles tailback #1 Lamont Wims scored on a 1 yard carry midway through the third quarter. The Eagles cashed in on the 2 point conversion, and added a 48 yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter.  The Cardinals had their chances, but untimely penalties cost Concordia a chance at a comeback.  Lamont Wims lead the Eagles rushing attack accumulating 168 yards, and a touchdown, on 36 carries.  Robert Morris University defeated Concordia University 17-6.
     The 2014 season has come to a conclusion for the Concordia football team.  The Cardinals finished the 2014 campaign with an overall record of 3-8, and an 0-6 record in the MSFA,  Scroll down to see exclusive photos from yesterdays College football showdown.

Robert Morris University came into yesterday''s game ranked #23rd in the Nation, according to the NAIA Poll.





Concordia University finished the 2014 campaign with a 3-8 overall record.  The Cardinals finished 0-6 in the MSFA.





Robert Morris University has an overall record of 8-3.  The Eagles are 3-3 in the MSFA.





It was Senior day at Cardinal Field.  




The Robert Morris Eagles defeated Concordia 17-6.

Jr. Hockey in Brownstown




On Wednesday night, the MC Monarchs (in red, and white) defeated the Detroit Fighting Irish 5-3.










     The MWJHL (Midwest Junior Hockey League) is constantly growing, and the Downriver area now has a team to follow.  The Detroit Fighting Irish play all of their home games at the Ice Box, in Brownstown, and tickets are priced at $5.00.  The MWJHL features local teams, local players, and offers quality hockey for fans of the game.  The Ice Box is located at 21902 Telegraph Road.

Davenport 4 - Madonna 1





On Tuesday afternoon, Davenport University (in red) defeated Madonna University (in blue) 4-1.










     The Davenport Panthers men's soccer team came to Livonia on Veterans Day, to take on the Madonna Crusaders in a WHAC (Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference) Tournament semifinal matchup.  #7 Dzenan Catic recorded his fifth hat trick of the season to propel the Panthers past Madonna 4-1.  The Davenport Panthers are currently ranked 10th in the Nation according to the latest NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) Poll.  Davenport will face (#17th ranked) Northwestern Ohio this afternoon for the WHAC Tournament Championship.  Click on  http://www.dupanthers.com for more information.

#7 Dzenan Catic recorded his 5th hat trick of the season.  The Panthers defeated the Crusaders 4-1.
 




#10 Lito Esquivel prepares for the corner kick.  Esquivel is a senior Midfielder for the Panthers. 





The Crusaders currently have an overall record of 14-5-1.

The Davenport Panthers are currently ranked 10th in the Country according to the latest NAIA Poll.





#23 Chris Rassel can't believe that his shot went wide.  Rassel is a defender for the Panthers playing in his sophomore year.





#19 T.J. Ifaturoti added a goal for Davenport.  Ifaturoti is a Midfielder playing in his sophomore season for the Panthers. 





Tuesday's matchup in Livonia was a WHAC Tournament semifinal game.  





Davenport defeated Madonna 4-1.  The Panthers advanced to the WHAC Tournament Final!
