Rockers Dormant This Season

 



     The Motor City Rockers were scheduled to compete as an expansion team in the shortened 2021 FPHL (Federal Prospects Hockey League) season, but the Rockers will remain dormant until the 2021-2022 FPHL season.  There are currently only four teams competing in the 22 game 2021 FPHL season including the Carolina Thunderbirds, the Columbus River Dragons (Georgia), the Elmira Enforcers, and the Port Huron Prowlers.  Ten teams were previously slated to compete in the 2021 FPHL season. 

     The Elmira Enforcers are currently in 1st place in the 2021 FPHL Western Division standings with 9 points, and an overall record of 2-0-1-1 (1 overtime win, and 1 overtime loss).  Carolina has not played a game yet this season, but the Thunderbirds are scheduled to drop the puck on Wednesday, March 3rd against the Elmira Enforcers.  The Carolina Thunderbirds are scheduled to play all of their games on the road this season.

Wrestling On CN900




     Episodes of Classic All-Star Wrestling can be seen throughout the week at different times on CN900 (Comcast Network TV).  Classic All Star Wrestling features vintage matches, and highlights from the 1950's, 1960's, 1970's, and early 1980's.  Some of the wrestlers featured on Classic All-Star Wrestling include Bruiser Brody, Jerry "The King" Lawler, Harley Race, Baron Von Raschke, The Sheik (The Original Sheik), Ricky Morton, and Robert Gibson.  Classic All-Star Wrestling is owned, and operated by Jarrett Parsons Entertainment.

906 Outdoors On YouTube

 



     906 Outdoors has an excellent YouTube channel for people that love the great outdoors.  906 Outdoors focuses exclusively on life in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  Some of the videos on the 906 Outdoors YouTube channel include "Natures Kennel Dog Sledding", "Smoking Venison", "Spearfishing for Pike", "Winter Camping in the Upper Peninsula", and "Winter in the Porkies".  906 Outdoors is hosted by Brian Whitens, and Kristin Ojaniemi.  The 906 Outdoors YouTube channel currently has 549 videos, and over 19,000 subscribers.  

      Episodes of Discovering can also be viewed on the 906 Outdoors YouTube channel.  Discovering also focuses exclusively on life in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  Some of the videos of Discovering include "Bear Hunting", "Deer Camp", "Deer Season 2020", "Maple Syrup", "Purple Martins", and "Shipwreck Diving in Munising".  Buck LeVasseur created Discovering, and hosted the hit television show from 1981 - 2011.  Discovering is currently hosted by Brian Whitens, and Kristin Ojaniemi.

USA 4-1 Green Bay



On Monday, February 22nd, the USA NTDP U-18 Team defeated the Green Bay Gamblers 4-1.








     On Monday, February 22nd, the USA NTDP (National Team Development Program) U-18 Team defeated the Green Bay Gamblers 4-1.  Both teams compete against each other in the Eastern Conference of the USHL (United States Hockey League).  Last Monday's game was played at the USA Hockey Arena located at 14900 Beck Road, in Plymouth.  

      The Green Bay Gamblers are currently in 3rd place in the USHL Eastern Conference standings with 38 points, and an overall record of 18-8-0-2 (2 shootout losses).  The USA NTDP is currently in 4th place in the USHL Eastern Conference standings with 34 points, and an overall record of 15-11-3-1 (3 overtime losses, and 1 shootout loss).  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs from last Monday's USHL hockey game in Plymouth.

Chicago 4-3 USA - OT

 


On Sunday, February 21st, the Chicago Steel defeated the USA NTDP U-17 Team 4-3 in overtime.






     On Sunday, February 21st, the Chicago Steel defeated the USA NTDP (National Team Development Program) U-17 Team 4-3 in overtime.  Both teams compete against each other in the Eastern Conference of the USHL (United States Hockey League).  Last Sunday's game was played at the USA Hockey Arena located at 14900 Beck Road, in Plymouth.

     The Chicago Steel are currently in 1st place in the USHL Eastern Conference standings with 48 points, and an overall record of 23-8-2-0 (2 overtime losses).  Team USA is currently in 4th place in the USHL Eastern Conference standings with 34 points, and an overall record of 15-11-3-1 (3 overtime losses, and 1 shootout loss).  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs of last Sunday's USHL hockey game in Plymouth.

-  Josh Doan plays Forward for the Chicago Steel.  Josh is the son of former NHL (National Hockey League) All-Star Shane Doan.  Josh Doan has already scored 18 goals this season for the Chicago Steel.

Pictures Of 2020



We watched the USA NTDP U-18 Team in January.  



Lotus Cars were on display at the 2020 Plymouth Ice Festival.



We attended two Detroit Waza Flo games.  The Waza Flo competed in the PASL last season. 



College basketball games were featured on the Mitten State Sports Report in January, and in February.



We attended an Eastern Michigan University hockey game in February.






We watched the University of Michigan earn a 4-2 victory over Central Michigan University.



College hockey games have been featured on the Mitten State Sports Report every year since 2013.



The Timber Challenge Course was the Mitten State Sports Report's most viewed post of 2020.



Gyms were closed, but we visited several outdoor fitness stations.  This one was located in Livonia.



Royal Oak has several different outdoor fitness stations.  This one sits inside of Barton Park North. 




We checked out Cass Benton Disc Golf Course.






The 2020 Live Harness Racing season at Northville Downs began in August.



A limited amount of fans were in attendance to see the 2020 Live Harness Racing at Northville Downs.


                                                                      

We went to a Classic Car Show in October.  It took place at the Blue Sky Ice Cream & Hamburger.






We checked out soccer in Southfield.  Midwest United FC defeated the LTU Men's Reserves 3-0.





A new NFC Fitness Court was recently installed in Canton, Michigan.

2021 Plymouth Ice Festival



The 2021 Plymouth Ice Festival took place last weekend in downtown Plymouth.






     The 2021 Plymouth Ice Festival took place last weekend in downtown Plymouth.  Over 65 ice carvings were placed in front of businesses throughout the city.  Ice sculptures were not displayed inside of Kellogg Park this year.  The weather was frigid, and the temperature remained well below freezing for the 39th Annual Plymouth Ice Festival.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs from the 2021 Plymouth Ice Festival.

Green Bay 4-3 USA



On Saturday, January 30th, the Green Bay Gamblers defeated the USA NTDP U-17 Team 4-3.






     On Saturday, January 30th, the Green Bay Gamblers defeated the USA NTDP (National Team Development Program) U-17 Team 4-3.  Both teams compete against each other in the Eastern Conference of the USHL (United States Hockey League).  The game was played at the USA Hockey Arena located at 14900 Beck Road, in Plymouth. 

     The Green Bay Gamblers are currently in 3rd place in the USHL Eastern Conference standings with 34 points, and an overall record of 16-7-0-2 (2 shootout losses).  Team USA is currently in 4th place in the USHL Eastern Conference standings with 28 points, and an overall record of 13-10-1-1 (1 overtime loss, and 1 shootout loss).  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs of USHL action in Plymouth.
