BKFC On YouTube

 



     The Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship YouTube channel currently features 236 videos for fans of the original sport of fighting.  Some of the videos on the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship YouTube channel include "BKFC 19 Free Fight Prelims!", "BKFC 18 Free Fight Prelims!", "Let Me Bang Bro! The Bare Knuckle Show Episode 29", and "Wild Weigh-Ins! BKFC 17 Official Weigh-In's".  The Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship YouTube channel currently has over 615,000 subscribers.

     Several of the fighters in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship have competed in other organizations including Bellator MMA, and UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship).  Some of the BKFC fighters include Joey Beltran, Chris Leben, Chris Lytle, Jennifer Tate, and Isaac Vallie-Flagg.  BKFC 20 is scheduled for Friday, August 20th, 2021.  The main event is scheduled to feature Johnny Bedford vs. Reggie Barnett Jr.

Red Wings Acquire Nedeljkovic








     On Thursday, July 22nd, the Detroit Red Wings acquired Goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic in a trade with the Carolina Hurricanes for Goaltender Jonathan Bernier, and a 2021 3rd round draft pick.  Nedeljkovic played locally in the OHL (Ontario Hockey League) with the Plymouth Whalers for three seasons, and with the Flint Firebirds for a half season.  Alex Nedeljkovic was selected by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2nd round (37th overall pick) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Head Coach Willie Green

 



     Former NBA (National Basketball Association) Guard Willie Green was named Head Coach of the New Orleans Pelicans yesterday afternoon.  Willie Green played several seasons in the NBA most notably for the Philadelphia 76'ers from 2003-2010.  Willie Green played college basketball for the University of Detroit Titans.  Green also played High School basketball at (Detroit) Cooley High School.  Cooley High School permanently closed it's doors in 2010.

Grant On Team USA




     Detroit Pistons Forward #9 Jerami Grant is representing Team USA in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.  Grant averaged 22.3 points per game last year in his first season with the Detroit Pistons.  Jerami Grant is the son of former NBA (National Basketball Association) player Harvey Grant.  Former NBA star Horace Grant is the twin brother of Harvey Grant.  

     The expectations were high for USA Basketball going into training camp on July 6th, but Team USA suffered two early exhibition losses to Nigeria 90-87, and Australia 91-83.  Team USA recovered with two exhibition wins over Argentina 108-80, and Spain 83-76.  USA Basketball has been placed in Group A with three other countries including Czech Republic, France, and Iran.  Team USA will open up Olympic competition against France on Sunday, July 25th.

Lah-De-Dahs 9-6 Eclipse

     On Sunday, July 18th, the Greenfield Village Lah-De-Dahs (in red) defeated the Eclipse Base Ball Club of Northville (in black) 9-6 in a Vintage Base Ball match that was played at Greenfield Village in Dearborn.  Vintage Base Ball, or Historic Base Ball is played by the rules of 1867.  Sunday's game was played at Walnut Grove Field.  Greenfield Village is located at 20900 Oakwood Blvd, in Dearborn.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs of Vintage Base Ball in Dearborn.

Walnut Grove Field



Walnut Grove Field is located inside of Greenfield Village.




     Walnut Grove Field is home to the Greenfield Village Lah-De-Dahs Base Ball Club, and the Greenfield Village Nationals Base Ball Club.  Both teams compete in vintage base ball, or historic base ball.  Teams from all over the Midwest travel to Walnut Grove Field to play vintage base ball so check The Henry Ford website for details.  Greenfield Village is located at 20900 Oakwood Blvd, in Dearborn.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs of Walnut Grove Field.

Harness Racing Returns 9/17/2021








     Live Harness Racing at Northville Downs is scheduled to resume on Friday, September 17th, 2021.  The 2021 Spring Harness Racing season at Northville Downs ran from April 2nd - June 26th.  Check out the Northville Downs website for more information about the 2021 racing schedule.  Northville Downs is also open everyday from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. for Simulcast Racing.  Northville Downs is located at 301 S. Center Street, in Northville.

Ann Arbor Baseball News

     The Ann Arbor Rec & Ed (Recreation and Education) Adult Baseball Summer League is well underway with two leagues, and thirteen teams.  The American League features eight teams including the Ann Arbor A's, Ann Arbor VFW, the Grasshoppers, the Michigan Tigers, the Monarchs, the Owls, Prestige Worldwide, and the Yellowjackets.  The National League features five teams including American Legion Post 46, the Ann Arbor A's, the Coyotes, the Fellas, and the Wolfpack.  

      Ann Arbor VFW is currently in 1st place in the American League standings with an overall record of 6-1.  The Grasshoppers are currently in 2nd place in the American League standings with an overall record of 7-2.  The Ann Arbor A's are currently in 1st place in the National League standings with an overall record of 7-1.  American Legion Post 46 is currently in 2nd place in the National League standings with an overall record of 4-3.

     Ann Abor Rec & Ed Adult Baseball Summer League games are usually played at either Veterans Memorial Park (Vets #5), or at West Park (West Park #2).  Veterans Memorial Park is located on the corner of Maple Road, and Dexter Road, in Ann Arbor.  West Park is located at 215 Chapin Street, in Ann Arbor.

Horse Racing on RTN

 



     Racetrack Television Network is a paid service that allows serious fans of horse racing to watch live horse races from all over the World on television, or on a mobile device.  Racetrack Television Network features Thoroughbred Horse Racing, Harness Racing, and Quarter Horse Racing.  Racetrack Television Network is similar to other professional league packages.  Plans start at five dollars per month, but upgraded packages can cost much more.  Some races are replay only so check out the Racetrack Television Network website for available Simulcasts.
