Warriors Football On CN900

 



     Live, an archived Wayne State University football games can be seen throughout the week on CN900 (Comcast Network TV).  The next live broadcast is scheduled for Saturday, October 30th at 6:00 p.m. when the Wayne State University Warriors host the Northwood University Timberwolves.  The Warriors currently have a conference record of 1-3, and an overall record of 1-7.  The Wayne State University football team is a NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division II program, and the Warriors compete in the GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference).

      Redshirt Freshman #7 Myren Harris leads the Warriors rushing attack this season with 701 yards, and 5 touchdowns.  The Warriors have given time to three different quarterbacks this season including Graduate #18 Jake AmRhein, Redshirt Junior #14 Chase Churchill, and Redshirt Freshman #12 Josh Kulka.  Redshirt Sophomore #13 Trevonte Davis leads the Warriors in reception yards this season with 568.  Davis has also accumulated 5 receiving touchdowns.

-  Paul Winters is the Head Coach of the Wayne State University football team. 


-  The Warriors play their home games at Tom Adams Field in Detroit. 


-  Wayne State defeated Davenport 16-3 on the road for the Warriors only victory of the season.


-  The Warriors have three games left this season.  Two home games vs. Northwood, and Grand Valley State, and a road game against Ferris State to end the season.


-  Myren Harris, and Josh Kulka both played high school football at Chippewa Valley High School.

LTU Reserves 4-0 UNOH Reserves

     On Tuesday, October 26th, the Lawrence Tech University Men's Soccer Reserves defeated the University of Northwestern Ohio Men's Soccer Reserves 4-0 at Blue Devils Stadium in Southfield.  The Lawrence Tech University Men's Soccer Reserves finished the 2021 season with an overall record of 8-5-2.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs of Tuesday's college soccer game.  

     The Lawrence Tech University Men's (Varsity) Soccer Team is currently in 2nd place in the WHAC (Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference) standings with a conference record of 7-2, and an overall record of 11-5.  The Blue Devils are currently riding five game winning streak with only one regular season game left on the schedule.  The 63rd Annual NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) Men's Soccer National Championship is scheduled for November 30th - December 6th, in Decatur, Alabama.

On Tuesday, October 27th, the LTU Reserves defeated the UNOH Reserves 4-0.





Tuesday's game was played at Blue Devils Stadium in Southfield.





The LTU Reserves finished the 2021 season with an overall record of 8-5-2.

Wolverines Hockey Ranked #2




     The University of Michigan Men's hockey team is currently ranked #2 in the Country according to the latest USCHO (U.S. College Hockey Online) Poll.  The Wolverines were previously ranked #1 in the Country, but St. Cloud State University currently claims the top spot.  The Wolverines currently have an overall record of 5-1, and their only loss of the season came at home to the Western Michigan University Broncos 5-2.  The Western Michigan University Broncos are currently ranked #13 in the Country according to the latest USCHO Poll. 

     The University of Michigan Men's hockey team currently has three returning players that were drafted with the top five picks of the 2021 NHL (National Hockey League) Entry Draft including #10 Matty Beniers, #13 Kent Johnson, and #22 Owen Power.  Defenseman Owen Power was selected by the Buffalo Sabres with the 1st overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.  Forward Matty Beniers was selected by the Seattle Kraken with the 2nd overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, and Forward Kent Johnson was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets with the 5th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

     Sophomore Forward #34 Thomas Bordeleau lead the Wolverines in points last season with 30.  Bordeleau accumulated 8 goals, and 22 assists in 24 games played last season.  The Wolverines also received plenty of positive contributions from Sophomore Forward #19 Brendan Brisson, Senior Defenseman #7 Nick Blankenburg, Junior Forward #9 Eric Ciccolini, Junior Forward #71 Nick Granowicz, and Fifth Year Forward #21 Michael Pastujov.  

     The Wolverines also added five talented Freshman including former USA NTDP (National Team Development Program) Forward #56 Dylan Duke, and former USA NTDP Defenseman #43 Luke Hughes.  The New Jersey Devils selected Luke Hughes with the 4th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.  The other three Wolverines Freshman include Defenseman #73 Ethan Edwards, Forward #94 Mark Estapa, and Forward #11 Mackie Samoskevich.  The Florida Panthers selected Mackie Samoskevich with the 24th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

     The University of Michigan Men's hockey team will begin Big Ten competition tomorrow night at home against the University of Wisconsin Badgers.  The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers are currently the only other Big Ten team other than Michigan to be ranked in the latest USCHO Poll.  The Golden Gophers are currently ranked #7 in the Country.  The Wolverines play their home games at Yost Ice Arena located at 1000 S. State Street, in Ann Arbor.

-  Wolverines Forward Dylan Duke was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 4th round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.  


-  Wolverines Forward Brendan Brisson was selected by the Vegas Golden Knights with the 29th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.  


-  Wolverines Forward Thomas Bordeleau was selected by the San Jose Sharks in the 2nd round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

LUX Fight League On FS2




     On Friday, October 15th, LUX Fight League 17 was broadcast live on FS2 (Fox Sports 2).  LUX Fight League is a relatively new MMA organization based in Mexico.  The fights take place in Mexico, and many of the fighters are also from Mexico.  Some of the fighters in LUX Fight League have already moved on to other organizations such as UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship).  LUX Fight League 18 is scheduled for Friday, November 5th, 2021 in Acapulco, Mexico.

     Ivan Valenzuela defeated Brandon Kesler by way of knock out in the main event of LUX Fight League 17.  Carlos Camargo also defeated Eduardo Rodriguez by way of knock out, and Pedro Pena defeated Jorge Manzano in a split decision.  The previously scheduled main event Bantamweight World Championship bout between Marco Beltran vs. Francesco Patron Manzo was cancelled, but there were five other preliminary fights at LUX Fight League 17.

NorthStar Angling On YouTube

 



     The NorthStar Angling YouTube channel currently features 70 videos for fans of ice fishing, and open water fishing.  Some of the videos on the NorthStar Angling YouTube channel include "A Day on the River", "How I set up and modified my cheap Craigslist fishing boat", "Lake Mille Lacs Sleeper House: One Night at Rocky Reef", and "Sturgeon Fishing with Night Crawlers".  The NorthStar Angling YouTube channel currently has 558 subscribers.  

     Neal Doss hosts the videos on the NorthStar Angling YouTube channel.  Doss mostly fishes for bass, catfish, pike, and walleye.  Many of the videos take place in Minnesota, but the gear, and tactics can be applied to a lake near you.  Some of my favorite videos on the NorthStar Angling YouTube channel include "Lake of the Woods Sleeper House Reviews: Arnesen's Rocky Point vs Zippel Bay", "Sleeper House Fishing on Lake of the Woods: Part One", and "Sleeper House Fishing on Lake of the Woods: Part Two".

USA 3-0 MSU

 


On Saturday, October 2nd, the USA NTDP U-18 Team defeated the MSU Spartans 3-0.




     On Saturday, October 2nd, the USA NTDP (National Team Development Program) U-18 Team defeated the Michigan State University Spartans 3-0.  The game was played at the USA Hockey Arena located at 14900 Beck Road, in Plymouth.  Saturday's exhibition was part of the Kroger College Series.  It was also the first game of the 2021-2022 season for the Michigan State Spartans. 

     The USA NTDP competes in the Eastern Conference of the USHL (United States Hockey League).  Team USA is currently in 5th place in the USHL Eastern Conference standings with 3 points, and an overall record of 1-2-1 (1 overtime loss).  The Michigan State Spartans will host a two game series against Air Force this weekend at Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing.
