Football: AAL News







     The 2019 AAL (American Arena League) season featured 14 teams including the Burgh Defenders, the Cape Fear Heroes, the Carolina Cowboyz, the Carolina Energy, the Carolina Havoc, the Carolina Predators, the Chicago Aztecs, the Georgia Doom, the Indianapolis Enforcers, the Jersey Flight, the New England Bobcats, the Peach State Cats, the West Michigan Ironmen, and the West Virginia Roughriders.
      On June 29th, the West Virginia Roughriders defeated the Carolina Energy 55-29 to win the 2019 AAL Championship.  The West Virginia Roughriders finished the 2019 AAL season with an overall record of 10-0.  The Carolina Energy finished the 2019 campaign with an overall record of 6-1.  The West Michigan Ironmen finished the 2019 AAL season with an overall record of 5-2.

                                                                                          Game Notes








-  The West Michigan Ironmen opened up the 2019 AAL season with a 95-0 win over the Illinois Renegades.  The Illinois Renegades compete in the IFA (Indoor Football Association).



-  On Saturday, May 18th, the West Michigan Ironmen defeated the Muskegon Mustangs 44-37 in a non-league game.  The Muskegon Mustangs compete in the GLFL (Great Lakes Football League).



-  The West Michigan Ironmen lost twice in 2019 to the West Virginia Roughriders.  Once in the regular season, and again in the postseason.  



-  The West Michigan Ironmen played their 2019 home games at L.C. Walker Arena located in Muskegon.



-  The AAL played their inaugural season in 2018.



-  The Atlanta Havoc defeated the Richmond Roughriders 58-50 in the 2018 AAL Championship.

TBT Has Talent







     TBT (The Basketball Tournament) features several talented basketball players that are not currently affiliated with the NBA (National Basketball Association), or the G League (NBA minor league).  TBT games can be seen on the ESPN family of networks, and the winning team earns 2 million dollars.
     Carmen's Crew includes several former Ohio State University basketball players including Aaron Craft, David Lighty, Jon Diebler, and William Buford.  Boeheim's Army includes former Syracuse University basketball players Eric Devendorf, and Hakim Warrick.  Overseas Elite is lead by former NBA guard Jeremy Pargo.  The Championship game is scheduled to be played on Tuesday, August 6th, in Chicago.

-  Overseas Elite has won 4 straight TBT Championships.



-  Former Detroit Piston Austin Daye is playing in TBT for Team Challenge ALS.



-  Former Michigan Wolverine Stu Douglass played in TBT for Big X.  Big X was eliminated from the tournament yesterday.



-  Former Butler University basketball player Matt Howard played in TBT for KBC.  KBC was eliminated from the tournament yesterday.



-  TBT includes 64 teams.



-  TBT is on Twitter.

Jaguars 4-1 AAFC





On Sunday, July 7th, the Michigan Jaguars defeated the AAFC Lumberjacks 4-1.











     On Sunday, July 7th, the Michigan Jaguars defeated the AAFC Lumberjacks 4-1.  Both teams compete against each other in the Midwest Conference - East Division of the UPSL (United Premier Soccer League).  The game was played at Detroit Catholic Central High School located at 27225 Wixom Road, in Novi.
     The Michigan Jaguars finished the 2019 UPSL Spring Season with an overall record of 3-5-2 (2 draws).  The AAFC Lumberjacks finished the 2019 UPSL Spring Season with an overall record of 1-6-3 (3 draws).  Click on the link below for more information about the UPSL.

-  The 2019 UPSL Spring Season Playoffs are underway.  The Championship game will be played on July 28th, in Texas.



-  The UPSL also features a Fall Season.



-  The UPSL Midwest Conference - East Division also includes BiH Grand Rapids, Carpathia FC, Oakland County FC, and Waza Flo FC.  



-  The Michigan Jaguars were featured on the Mitten State Sports Report on February 23rd, 2019.

Utica 11-8 Eastside





On Thursday July 4th, the Utica Unicorns defeated the Eastside Diamond Hoppers 11-8.  











     On Thursday, July 4th, the Utica Unicorns defeated the Eastside Diamond Hoppers 11-8.  Both teams compete against each other in the East Division of the USPBL (United Shore Professional Baseball League).  The USPBL plays all of their games at Jimmy John's Field located at 7171 Auburn Road, in Utica.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs of USPBL action.
     The Utica Unicorns are currently in 1st place in the USPBL East Division standings with an overall record of 14-10.  The Eastside Diamond Hoppers are currently in 2nd place in the USPBL East Division standings with an overall record of 10-14.
     The 2019 USPBL season also features two teams in the West Division including the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers, and the Westside Woolly Mammoths.  The Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers are currently in 1st place in the USPBL West Division standings with an overall record of 13-10.  The Westside Woolly Mammoths are currently in 2nd place in the USPBL West Division standings with an overall record of 10-13.

-  On Thursday, July 4th, the Utica Unicorns scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning.



-  Unicorns Infielder #22 Joe Campagna hit 2 homeruns against the Diamond Hoppers on Thursday night.



-  Unicorns Catcher #8 Jimmy Latona also hit a homerun on Thursday night.  Latona currently leads the USPBL in homeruns with 7.



-  Diamond Hoppers Outfielder #19 Pat Adams currently has a league leading .376 batting average.  Adams played college baseball at Wayne State University.

PLL On NBCSN







     The 2019 PLL (Premier Lacrosse League) season can be seen on NBC, and on NBCSN (NBC Sports Network).  The 2019 PLL season features six teams including Archers Lacrosse Club, Atlas Lacrosse Club, Chaos Lacrosse Club, Chrome Lacrosse Club, Redwoods Lacrosse Club, and Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club.  The 2019 PLL season includes a ten game regular season schedule, an All-Star Game, and a three week Postseason schedule.  2019 PLL games are played at different venues throughout the United States, and Canada.

-  The PLL was founded by Paul Rabil, and his brother Mike Rabil.



-  The PLL headquarters are located in Los Angeles, California.

Didyfest 2019





Didyfest 2019 took place at Garden City Park on Saturday, June 29th.











     Didyfest 2019 took place at Garden City Park on Saturday, June 29th.  The event featured food, music, and lots of classic cars, and hot rods.  Garden City Park is located on the northeast corner of Cherry Hill Road, and Merriman Road, in Garden City, Michigan.

Football: CIF News







     The 2019 CIF (Champions Indoor Football) regular season featured eight teams including the Amarillo Venom, the Duke City Gladiators, the Oklahoma Flying Aces, the Omaha Beef, the Salina Liberty, the Sioux City Bandits, the Texas Revolution, and the Wichita Force.  CIF games can be seen on Pluto TV, and on the official CIF website.
     Champions Bowl V (The CIF 2019 Championship game) is scheduled for Saturday, July 13th, and features the Salina Liberty vs. the Duke City Gladiators.  The Duke City Gladiators are the defending Champions Bowl Champions.  Click on the link below for more information about Champions Indoor Football.
