NJCAA Baseball In Taylor





On Tuesday, March 26th, the Henry Ford College baseball team hosted the Macomb Community College Monarchs.











     On Tuesday, March 26th, the Henry Ford College baseball team hosted the Macomb Community College Monarchs for a doubleheader.  Both games were played at Papp Park located at the southwest corner of Wick Road, and Westlake, in Taylor.  The Henry Ford Hawks defeated the Macomb Community College Monarchs 4-3 in the first game, and 5-1 in the second game.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs from the second game of last Tuesday's doubleheader.
     The Henry Ford Hawks, and the Macomb Community College Monarchs are both NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) programs, and both schools compete against each other in the MCCAA (Michigan Community College Athletic Association).  Click on the links below for more information about the NJCAA, or the MCCAA.

NAIA Baseball In Novi





On Sunday, March 24th, the University of Michigan Dearborn baseball team hosted the Concordia University Cardinals.











     On Sunday, March 24th, the University of Michigan Dearborn baseball team hosted the Concordia University Cardinals for a doubleheader.  Both games were played at Novi High School located at 24062 Taft Road, in Novi, Michigan.  The Wolverines defeated the Cardinals 10-0 in the first game, but the Cardinals won the second game 11-6.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs from the second game of last Sunday's doubleheader.
     The University of Michigan Dearborn Wolverines, and the Concordia University Cardinals are both NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) programs, and both schools compete against each other in the WHAC (Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference).  Click on the links below for more information about the NAIA, or the WHAC.

FHL News: March 2019







     The Port Huron Prowlers are in a great position to earn the fourth, and final spot in the upcoming 2019 FHL (Federal Hockey League) Playoffs.  The Prowlers are currently in 4th place in the FHL standings with 66 points, and an overall record of 20-27-2-2 (2 overtime wins, and 2 overtime losses).  The Prowlers are currently 14 points ahead of the 5th place Danville Dashers.
     The Port Huron Prowlers could likely move ahead of the Watertown Wolves to earn the third spot in the 2019 FHL Playoffs.  The Prowlers have eight regular season games left, and four of those games are against the struggling Mentor Ice Breakers.  Two games are against the Watertown Wolves, and the other two games are against the Carolina Thunderbirds.

-  The Federal Hockey League features 6 teams for the 2018-2019 season.



-  4 teams will qualify for the 2019 FHL Playoffs.



-  Port Huron Prowlers Forward #92 Dalton Jay has scored 40 goals, and added 48 assists in 49 games this season.



-  Port Huron Prowlers Forward #15 Matt Robertson has scored 32 goals, and added 50 assists in 40 games this season.



-  The Carolina Thunderbirds are in 1st place in the FHL standings with 130 points, and an overall record of 42-5-1-2 (1 overtime win, and 2 overtime losses).



-  The Carolina Thunderbirds, and the Elmira Enforcers have already clinched spots in the 2019 FHL Playoffs.



 -  The Carolina Thunderbirds have clinched the #1 overall spot in the 2019 FHL Playoffs.

Michigan 4-0 Manhattan





On Sunday, March 17th, the University of Michigan baseball team defeated the Manhattan College Jaspers 4-0.











     On Sunday, March 17th, the University of Michigan baseball team defeated the Manhattan College Jaspers 4-0.  The Wolverines completed a four game sweep over the Jaspers winning the first three games of the series by scores of 5-1, 23-2, and 16-7.  Sunday's game was a 7 inning game, and was preceded by the completion of Saturday's suspended game.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs of Sunday's college baseball showdown.
     The University of Michigan baseball team currently has an overall record of 13-4.  The Wolverines compete in the Big Ten Conference against 12 other schools.  The University of Wisconsin is the only school in the Big Ten Conference that doesn't field a NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) varsity baseball team.  Click on the links below for more information about the University of Michigan athletic program, the NCAA, or the Big Ten Conference.

-  Wolverines Pitcher #25 Isaiah Paige threw 5 scoreless innings against the Jaspers on Sunday.  Paige allowed 2 hits, and recorded 1 strikeout.



-  Wolverines Infielder #10 Blake Nelson contributed 1 run, 2 hits, and 2 RBI (runs batted in) during Sunday's 4-0 win over the Jaspers.



-  The Wolverines scored all four runs in the 4th inning during Sunday's 4-0 win over the Jaspers.



-  Mike Cole is the Head Coach of the Manhattan College baseball team.

Indiana Tech 7-1 Aquinas





On Saturday, March 9th, the Indiana Tech Warriors defeated the Aquinas College Saints 7-1.











     On Saturday, March 9th, the Indiana Tech hockey team defeated the Aquinas College Saints 7-1 in the 2nd round of the WHAC (Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference) Tournament.  Saturday's game was played at the University of Michigan Dearborn Ice Arena.  Click on the link below for more information about the WHAC.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs from last Saturday's hockey game.
     The Indiana Tech hockey team currently has an overall record of 32-3.  The Warriors are currently competing in the 2019 NAIHA (North American Intercollegiate Hockey Association) Nationals in Nashville, Tennessee.  Indiana Tech also fields a club hockey team that competes in Division 3 of the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association).  Click on the links below for more information about the Indiana Tech athletic program, or the NAIHA.

LTU 5-2 Concordia





On Friday, March 8th, the Lawrence Tech University hockey team defeated the Concordia University Cardinals 5-2.

5 Years Of USA NTDP





The USA NTDP was featured on the Mitten State Sports Report in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.











     The USA NTDP (National Team Development Program) was featured on the Mitten State Sports Report in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.  The USA NTDP features a U-17 Team, and a U-18 Team that both compete in the USHL (United States Hockey League).  The USA NTDP plays their home games at the USA Hockey Arena located at 14900 Beck Road, in Plymouth.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs of the USA NTDP.
