UofM-D 3-2 LTU

     On Friday, February 17th, the University of Michigan Wolverines defeated the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils 3-2 in Dearborn.  The Wolverines also earned a 4-2 victory over the Blue Devils on Saturday, February 18th in Southfield.  Both schools are members of the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association), and both teams compete in the WHAC (Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference).  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs of college hockey action from Friday, February 17th.

     Wolverines Forward #15 Quest Bigelow scored the game winning goal on Friday night with a tenth of a second left on the clock.  Wolverines Forward #47 Brendan West contributed 1 goal, and 1 assist.  The Wolverines outshot the Blue Devils 30-24.  

     The University of Michigan Dearborn Men's hockey team currently has a conference record of 17-6-1 (1 shootout loss), and an overall record of 22-12-1.  The Wolverines also won the 2023 WHAC Men's Hockey Tournament Championship on Sunday, February 26th.  The Lawrence Tech University Men's hockey team currently has a conference record of 16-8, and an overall record of 25-9.  The Blue Devils lost in the semifinals of the 2023 WHAC Men's Hockey Tournament on Saturday, February 25th.

The UofM-D Wolverines currently have an overall record of 22-12-1 (1 shootout loss).



The LTU Blue Devils currently have an overall record of 25-9.

-  The University of Michigan Dearborn Men's hockey team defeated the Concordia University Cardinals 4-1 in the 2023 WHAC Men's Hockey Tournament Championship.


-  The LTU Blue Devils lost to the University of Michigan Wolverines 5-1 in the semifinals of the 2023 WHAC Men's Hockey Tournament.


-  Chris Haltinner is the Head Coach of the University of Michigan Dearborn Men's hockey team.

LTU 5-2 Concordia





On Friday, March 8th, the Lawrence Tech University hockey team defeated the Concordia University Cardinals 5-2.











     On Friday, March 8th, the Lawrence Tech University hockey team defeated the Concordia University Cardinals 5-2 in the 1st round of the WHAC (Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference) Tournament.  Friday night's game was played at the University of Michigan Dearborn Ice Arena.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs from last Friday's game.
     The Lawrence Tech University hockey team, and the Concordia University hockey team both compete in the NAIHA (North American Intercollegiate Hockey Association), and both schools are conference rivals in the WHAC.  Click on the links below for more information about the NAIHA, or the WHAC.

-  #19 Alex Schlueter scored 2 goals, and added 1 assist for the Blue Devils during last Friday's 5-2 win over Concordia University.



-  The Blue Devils lost to the University of Michigan Dearborn Wolverines 4-1 in the 2nd round of the WHAC Conference Tournament.



-  Ken Gaffney is the Head Coach of the Lawrence Tech University hockey team.



-  Ben Kenyon is the Head Coach of the Concordia University Men's hockey team.

College Hockey Is Back





On Thursday, October 5th, the University of Michigan Dearborn hockey team defeated Lawrence Tech University 8-0.











     On Thursday, October 5th, the University of Michigan Dearborn hockey team defeated the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils 8-0 in Dearborn.  The University of Michigan Dearborn, and Lawrence Tech University are both NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) schools, and both teams compete in the WHAC (Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference).  The NAIA, and the WHAC are now recognizing men's ice hockey as a sport for the 2017-2018 season.  Click on the links below for more information about the NAIA, or the WHAC.
     The University of Michigan Dearborn hockey team currently has an overall record of 7-1-1 (1 shootout loss).  The Wolverines are currently ranked #9 in the Country according to the latest ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association) Division 1 Poll.  The Wolverines are scheduled to compete in two separate Conference/League postseason tournaments this season including the 2018 WHAC Postseason Tournament, and the 2018 GLCHL (Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League) Playoffs.  Scroll down to see exclusive photos of the Wolverines 8-0 victory over the Blue Devils.  Click on the links below for more information about the ACHA, the GLCHL, or the University of Michigan Dearborn athletic program.

5 Years of LTU Hockey





The Lawrence Tech University hockey program has been featured on the Mitten State Sports Report every year since 2013.











     The Lawrence Tech University hockey program has been featured on the Mitten State Sports Report every year since 2013.  The Blue Devils have faced off against schools from around the Country including Purdue University, Cleveland State University, and Penn State Behrend.  The Blue Devils have also battled local rivals such as Central Michigan University, Grand Valley State University, and Saginaw State University.  Scroll down to see exclusive photos from several Lawrence Tech University hockey games.
     The Lawrence Tech University athletic program fields two hockey teams that both compete in Division 3 of the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association).  The Blue Devils Blue Team competes in the MCHC (Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference), and the Blue Devils White Team competes in the North Conference. Holy Cross College visited the Southfield Ice Arena in 2014.  Holy Cross College is located in Indiana.






Cleveland State University faced the Blue Devils in 2015.






The Indiana Tech Warriors are familiar with the Southfield Ice Arena.





Lawrence Tech University has developed a rivalry with the Saginaw Valley State University Cardinals.






The University of Michigan Wolverines compete against the Blue Devils (Blue Team) in the MCHC.






Lawrence Tech University fields two ACHA Division 3 hockey teams.  The Blue Team, and the White Team.

LTU vs. Toledo





On Friday evening, the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils (White Team) defeated the University of Toledo Rockets 4-2.











     On Friday evening, the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils (White Team) defeated the University of Toledo Rockets 4-2.  The game was played at the Southfield Sports Arena.  The Blue Devils (White Team) also defeated the University of Toledo Rockets 3-2 in a shootout last night.  Last night's game was played in Toledo. Both schools compete in Division 3 of the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association).  Click on the link below for more information about the ACHA.

LTU 6 - 0 Cleveland State





On Friday night, the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils (White Team) defeated Cleveland State University 6-0.











     On Friday night, the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils (White Team) defeated the Cleveland State University Vikings 6-0.  The game was competitive through the first 30 minutes of play, and the Blue Devils lead 1-0 at the end of the first period.  Lawrence Tech University scored 5 goals in the second period, and put the game out of reach.  There is live video on the Blue Devils website for all 2015-2016 Lawrence Tech University home games.  Click on the link below for more information about Lawrence Tech University athletics.
    Lawrence Tech University is an ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association) Division 3 program, and the Blue Devils compete in the MCHC (Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference).  The Blue Devils (White Team) currently have an overall record of 1-1.  Ken Gaffney is the Head Coach of the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils (White Team), and the team plays their home games at the Southfield Sports Arena. The Lawrence Tech University (White Team) earned a 6-0 shutout victory against Cleveland State University.






The Blue Devils (White Team) compete in Division 3 of the American Collegiate Hockey Association.






#7 Mark Sharpnack came into Friday night's action with 1 goal this season.

Hockey: LTU Now Has Two





Lawrence Tech University has expanded their hockey program.  The Blue Devils are now fielding 2 ACHA hockey teams.











     Lawrence Tech University has expanded their hockey program, and the Blue Devils are currently fielding two ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association) Division 3 teams.  Lawrence Tech is now featuring a Blue team, and a White team for the 2015-2016 season.  Ken Gaffney is the Head Coach of both squads, and both teams will play their home games at the Southfield Sports Arena located at 26000 Evergreen Road, in Southfield.  Click on the links below for more information about Lawrence Tech University athletics, or the ACHA.
     The LTU Blue team opened up the 2015-2016 campaign with a 7-6 victory over the LTU White team.  It would appear that the LTU Blue team has assumed the roll of the Varsity hockey club.  The LTU Blue team features 14 returning players from the 2014-2015 season, including their top two goal scorers Roman Reiner (11 goals), and Garret Yesue (11 goals).  The LTU White team features 17 new players, and only includes 4 returning players from the 2014-2015 season.  The LTU White team is also scheduled to play after the LTU Blue team during home games.  This West Coast time slot assures that LTU White fans will spend some late nights at the Southfield Sports Arena.

LTU 6 - Penn St. Behrend 3





On Saturday night, the Lawrence Tech University hockey team defeated Penn State Behrend 6-3 at the Southfield Ice Arena!










     On Saturday night, the Lawrence Tech University hockey team defeated the Penn St. Behrend Lions 6-3 at the Southfield Ice Arena!  The Blue Devils hockey club has made dramatic improvements from last season, and the changes have already payed dividends in the form of victories.  Blue Devils Head Coach Ken Gaffney is building up the program, and the team has already matched their win total from the 2013-2014 season.  The Lawrence Tech Blue Devils are currently 4-1 overall, including 2 impressive road wins at Northwestern University. Sophomore forward #18 Shane Gamrat lead the Blue Devils with a hat trick performance during Saturday night's 6-3 victory over the Lions.
     Lawrence Tech University, and Penn St. Behrend both compete in Division 3 of the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association).  Lawrence Tech is riding a four game winning steak, and they currently have an overall record of 4-1.  The Blue Devils return to the Southfield Ice Arena on Friday, October 24th when they'll host the Central Michigan University Chippewa.  Puck drops at 8:00 p.m.

Blue Devils goaltender #32 Austin Petty made several key saves during Saturday night's 6-3 victory.

   




The Blue Devils have made drastic improvements from last season.  LTU has already matched their win total from last year.





The Lawrence Tech University hockey team plays all of their home games at the Southfield Ice Arena. 





Both teams played a physical brand of hockey.  





The officials try their best to restore the order. Penalties are issued when players get out of line.
