CHL On NHL Network

     The 2021-2022 CHL (Champions Hockey League) semi-final featuring Red Bull Munich (Germany) vs. Tappara Tampere (Finland) can be seen live on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. on the NHL Network.  The winner will take on Rogle BK (Sweden) for the 2021-2022 Champions Hockey League Championship.  Rogle BK defeated Frolunda HC (Sweden) in the other 2021-2022 CHL semi-final.  Frolunda HC won the 2019-2020 CHL Championship.  The 2020-2021 Champions Hockey League tournament was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Blackbirds 4-2 MCHC

On Saturday, January 29th, the Midwest Blackbirds defeated the Motor City Hockey Club 4-2.

     On Saturday, January 29th, the Midwest Blackbirds (Dyer, Indiana) defeated the Motor City Hockey Club 4-2.  Both teams compete against each other in the Premier Division of the USPHL (United States Premier Hockey League).  Saturday's game was played at the Redford Ice Arena located at 12400 Beech Daly, in Redford.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs of USPHL action in Redford.

     The Midwest Blackbirds are currently in 5th place in the USPHL Midwest East Division standings with 31 points, and an overall record of 14-18-2-1 (2 overtime losses, and 1 shootout loss).  The Motor City Hockey Club is currently in 7th place in the USPHL Midwest East Division standings with 10 points, and an overall record of 3-28-3-1 (3 overtime losses, and 1 shootout loss).

-  The Metro Jets (Mount Clemens, Michigan) are currently ranked as the #1 overall team in the USPHL Premier Division.  The Jets currently have an overall record of 34-4-1 (1 overtime loss). 

-  The USPHL also features a NCDC (National Collegiate Development Conference) Division, an Elite Division, a U-18 Division, a U-16 Division, a U-15 Division, and a USPHL Youth Division.

USA 9-4 Madison

On Saturday, January 22nd, the USA NTDP U-18 Team defeated the Madison Capitols 9-4.

     On Saturday, January 22nd, the USA NTDP (National Team Development Program) U-18 Team defeated the Madison Capitols 9-4.  The game was played at the USA Hockey Arena located at 14900 Beck Road, in Plymouth.  Both teams compete against each other in the Eastern Conference of the USHL (United States Hockey League).  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs of last Saturday's hockey game.

     The Madison Capitols are currently in 4th place in the USHL Eastern Conference standings with 38 points, and an overall record of 18-16-2-0 (2 overtime losses).  The USA NTDP is currently in 8th place in the USHL Eastern Conference standings with 21 points, and an overall record of 9-16-3-0 (3 overtime losses).  The USA NTDP has played significantly less games than other teams in the Eastern Conference of the USHL.

Hoophall Classic On ESPNU

 

     ESPNU is scheduled to broadcast four live games from the 2022 Spalding Hoophall Classic on Monday, January 17th.  The Spalding Hoophall Classic features some of the top high school basketball players, and teams from across the country.  ESPN2 is also showing two games from the 2022 Spalding Hoophall Classic on Sunday, January 16th.  Other games can be seen on ESPN+, and on FloSports.  The 2022 Spalding Hoophall Classic tips off today at 4:00 p.m. from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts.  

     On Sunday, January 16th, Gill St. Bernard's (New Jersey) will take on Westtown School (Pennsylvania) at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN2 followed by La Lumiere School (Indiana) vs. AZ Compass Prep (Arizona) at 9:00 p.m. on ESPN2. 

      On Monday. January 17th, Wilbraham & Monson Academy (Massachusetts) vs. Life Christian Academy (Florida) tips off at 11:00 a.m. on ESPNU followed by Camden High School (New Jersey) vs. Milton High School (Georgia) at 1:00 p.m. on ESPNU.  IMG Academy (Florida) vs. Montverde Academy (Florida) tips off at 3:00 p.m. on ESPNU followed by Link Academy (Missouri) vs. Prolific Prep (California) at 5:00 p.m. on ESPNU.

Pictures of 2021

 

Eight USA NTDP games were featured on the Mitten State Sports Report in 2021.

We visited the 2021 Plymouth Ice Festival in February.

We checked out the Eastern Michigan University baseball team in April.

Five Eastern Michigan University baseball games were featured on the Mitten State Sports Report in 2021.

We watched college baseball in Ann Arbor.  Concordia University defeated Rochester University 15-4.

We watched Vintage Base Ball at Greenfield Village.

Five Vintage Base Ball games were featured on the Mitten State Sports Report in 2021.

We went to Motor Muster 2021 at Greenfield Village.

It's always fun to go to the Classic Car Show at the VFW Post 345 in Redford.

The Classic Car Show at the VFW Post 345 was featured on the Mitten State Sports Report three times in 2021.

USPBL games in Utica are always a good time in the Summer. 

We checked out the "Driven To Win" exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum.

We went back to Greenfield Village for the Old Car Festival

We took in a college soccer game in Southfield.

The USPHL was featured on the Mitten State Sports Report in November.

We watched the University of Dearborn Wolverines defeat Cleary University Cougars 2-1.
