Semi-Pro Football: GLFL News







     The GLFL (Great Lakes Football League) is a semi-pro football league that currently features 9 teams from across the State of Michigan.  The GLFL is divided into two divisions, and teams include the Capital City Stealth, the Muskegon Mustangs, the Michigan Hurricanes, the Northern Michigan Wolves, the Lake Michigan Havoc, the Detroit Ravens, the Detroit Seminoles, the Detroit Diesels, and the Flint Fury.  The Detroit Ravens won the 2016 GLFL Championship by defeating the Muskegon Mustangs 48-28 on September 10th, 2016.  The Detroit Ravens finished the 2016 season with an overall record of 12-0.  Click on the link below for more information about the Great Lakes Football League.

-  The Mustangs defeated the Fury 14-12 in the 2016 GLFL Eastern Conference Championship.



-  The Mustangs defeated the Ravens 27-13 in the 2015 GLFL Championship Game.



-  The Seminoles defeated the Mustangs 27-20 in the 2014 GLFL Championship Game.



-  The 2016 GLFL All-Star Game was played at Holy Redeemer Catholic School, in Burton.



-  The 2016 GLFL Championship Game was played at Birmingham Seaholm High School.

Junior Varsity College Hoops






On Tuesday, the University of Michigan Dearborn Junior Varsity Men's basketball team earned a 75-63 victory. 











     On Tuesday, December 6th, the University of Michigan Dearborn Junior Varsity Men's basketball team defeated the Olivet College Junior Varsity Men's basketball team 75-63.  The Olivet College Varsity Men's basketball team competes in Division III of the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association).  The University of Michigan Dearborn Varsity Men's basketball team competes in Division II of the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics).  Click on the links below for more information about the NCAA, or the NAIA.

Chicago 4 - 1 USA





On Saturday, the Chicago Steel defeated the USA NTDP U-18 Team 4-1. 











     On Saturday, December 3rd, the Chicago Steel defeated the USA NTDP (National Team Development Program) U-18 Team 4-1.  Team USA outshot the Steel 31-23.  Both teams compete in the USHL (United States Hockey League).  Saturday night's game was played at the USA Hockey Arena located at 14900 Beck Road, in Plymouth.  Click on the links below for more information about the USHL, or the USA Hockey Arena.
     The USA NTDP is currently in 8th place in the Eastern Conference of the USHL with 11 points, and an overall record of 5-11-1 (1 overtime loss).  The USA NTDP also features an U17 Team that plays their home games at the USA Hockey Arena.  Both USA NTDP teams combine their records against USHL opponents. Catholic Central 2-2 St. Mary's





On Saturday, the Detroit Catholic Central Shamrocks skated to a 2-2 tie against the Orchard Lake St. Mary's Eaglets.











     On Saturday, December 3rd, the Detroit Catholic Central Shamrocks skated to a 2-2 tie against the Orchard Lake St. Mary's Eaglets.  The Shamrocks were able to earn a 2-0 victory over the Eaglets the previous night. Saturday night's game was played at the USA Hockey Arena located at 14900 Beck Road, in Plymouth.  Both hockey teams compete in Division 1 of the MHSAA (Michigan High School Athletic Association).  Click on the link below for more information about the MHSAA.

Henry Ford 78-68 Glen Oaks





The Henry Ford College Hawks are currently riding a two game winning streak.
