The Plymouth Whalers have existed for 25 years as a hockey organization affiliated with the OHL (Ontario Hockey League). They've been known as Ambassadors, Junior Red Wings, and Detroit Whalers, and the team has called Compuware Arena their home since the 1996-1997 season. The Plymouth Whalers are currently in 3rd place in the Ontario Hockey League's West Division with 17 points, and an overall record of 8-12 (1 overtime loss).
