Concordia Football

#11 Blake Hilsabeck celebrates a Concordia Cardinals touchdown!  #19 Cory Turner made the reception!

When most people think about college football in the city of Ann Arbor, they almost automatically think about the University of Michigan.  There's another college football team that plays on the outskirts of "The Deuce" known as the Concordia Cardinals.  Concordia University is located on 4090 Geddes Road (just west of US 23), and the Cardinals football team competes in the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics).
Last Saturday, the Concordia Cardinals lost to the University of Saint Francis (Indiana) Cougars 30-14. Both teams are conference rivals in the MSFA (Mid-States Football Association), and both schools compete in the Mideast League.  #5 Antoin Campbell lead the Cougars rushing attack with 105 yards on 17 carries.  #7 Tyler Steele lead the Cardinals offense, throwing for 180 yards, 2 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and completing 20-37 of his passing attempts.
Concordia University is currently in 7th place in the Mideast League standings with a 3-7 overall record.  The Cardinals will finish up their regular season schedule next Saturday afternoon against Robert Morris University. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. at Cardinals Field.  Scroll down to see exclusive photos from last Saturday's college football showdown.  Click on the links below for more information about the Concordia University athletic program, the NAIA, or the MSFA.
