UofM-D 67-66 Cornerstone





On Wednesday, January 9th, the University of Michigan Dearborn Wolverines defeated Cornerstone University 67-66.











     On Wednesday, January 9th, the University of Michigan Dearborn Men's basketball team defeated the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles 67-66.  The game was won on a four point play converted by Wolverines Guard #23 Mafiaion Joyner with 2 seconds left in regulation.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs from last night's matchup.
     Cornerstone University, and the University of Michigan Dearborn are both NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletic) programs, and both schools compete against each other in the WHAC (Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference).  Click on the links below for more information about the NAIA, or the WHAC.
     The Cornerstone University Men's basketball team currently has an overall record of 15-5, and the Golden Eagles are 8-2 in the WHAC.  The Golden Eagles are currently ranked #6 in the Country according to the latest NAIA Poll.  Click on the link below for more information about the Cornerstone University athletic program.

-  University of Michigan Dearborn Guard #23 Mafiaion Joyner lead the Wolverines in scoring on Wednesday night with 16 points.



-  Cornerstone University Center #42 Sam Vander Sluis scored 20 points, and added 17 rebounds for the Golden Eagles on Wednesday night.



-   #42 Sam Vander Sluis has recorded a double-double in 18 of 20 games this season.



-  #42 Sam Vander Sluis has already been named WHAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week four times this season.



-  Taylor Langley is the Head Coach of the University of Michigan Dearborn Men's basketball team.



-  Kim Elders is the Head Coach of the Cornerstone University Men's basketball team.
