Local Ties In Preakness

     The 144th Preakness Stakes will take place today at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland, and one horse in the race has ties to Michigan.  Owendale is currently a 8-1 odds favorite to win the Preakness, and Owendale is apparently named after Owendale-Gagetown High School located in Owendale, Michigan.  Owendale is a small village located in Huron County, and the village sits within Brookfield Township.  The 144th Preakness Stakes will be televised on NBC beginning at 5:00 p.m.

-  War of Will (6-1 odds) is also a favorite to win the 144th Preakness Stakes.



-  Kentucky Derby winner Country House is not participating in the 144th Preakness Stakes.



-  Owendale won the Lexington Stakes back on April 13th, 2019.



-  Owendale-Gagetown High School athletic teams are known as the Bulldogs.
