MLB Vault On YouTube




     The MLB Vault YouTube channel currently features 451 videos for fans of Major League Baseball.  The videos contain some historic moments from the past, and the channel even has full games.  Some of the videos on the MLB Vault YouTube channel include "Curtis Granderson had a Great career! Slugging outfielder did it all", "Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez had a CANNON of an arm! One of the best catchers ever", "Miguel Cabrera's one of the best hitters ever! Some of his home runs are ICONIC", and "OTD: Justin Verlander Tosses 2nd No-Hitter".  Some of the full games on the MLB Vault YouTube channel include "2013 ALCS - Game 2 (Tigers vs. Red Sox)", "2014 ALDS Game 2 (Tigers vs. Orioles)", and "1986 All-Star Game (Houston)".

Petry Is Pivotal




     Jeff Petry is currently a Defenseman for the Montreal Canadiens.  Jeff is also the son of former Detroit Tigers Pitcher Dan Petry.  The Montreal Canadiens will be on the road tonight for Game 1of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Tampa Bay Lightning.  Petry scored 12 goals, and added 30 assists in 55 games played this season for the Montreal Canadiens.  Jeff Petry grew up in Farmington Hills, Michigan.  

     Jeff Petry played high school hockey at Orchard Lake St. Mary's.  Petry also played college hockey for the Michigan State University Spartans.  Jeff Petry was drafted in the 2nd round (45th overall pick) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers.  Dan Petry is currently on the Detroit Tigers broadcast team for Bally Sports Detroit.

Motor Muster 2021

     Motor Muster 2021 took place last weekend at Greenfield Village.  The event featured hundreds of vehicles from as early as 1933 through as late as 1977.  Greenfield Village is located at 20900 Oakwood Blvd, in Dearborn.  Motor Muster 2021 was powered by Hagerty.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs of Motor Muster 2021.

Early Risers 23-17 Lah-De-Dahs

     On Sunday, June 20th, the Early Risers Base Ball Club of Detroit (in blue) defeated the Greenfield Village Lah-De-Dahs Base Ball Club (in red) 23-17 in a Vintage Base Ball match that was played at Greenfield Village in Dearborn.  Some of the rules of 1867 include no gloves, pitching underhanded, and playing on an open field of grass.  Sunday's game was played at Walnut Grove Field.  Greenfield Village is located at 20900 Oakwood Blvd, in Dearborn.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs of Sunday's Vintage Base Ball match.

The Early Risers Base Ball Club defeated the Greenfield Village Lah-De-Dahs Base Ball Club 23-17.



The Base Ball match was played by the rules of 1867.

The Road To Omaha

 






     The road to Omaha runs through South Bend, Indiana for the Central Michigan University Chippewas, and the University of Michigan Wolverines.  The two schools will face off in an elimination game this afternoon after both teams lost their regional opener yesterday.  The University of Notre Dame defeated Central Michigan University 10-0 on Friday afternoon, and the University of Connecticut defeated the University of Michigan 6-1 last night. 

     The University of Michigan baseball team finished the 2021 season in 3rd place in the Big Ten Conference standings with an overall record of 27-17.  The Wolverines did not play a non-conference schedule this year.  The Central Michigan University baseball team finished the 2021 season in 1st place in the MAC (Mid-American Conference) standings with a conference record of 31-9, and an overall record of 40-17.  

     Chippewas Pitcher #31 Andrew Taylor was named MAC Freshman Pitcher of the Year, and MAC Pitcher of the Year.  Taylor was even named to Collegiate Baseball's All-America Second Team.  Infielder #1 Mario Camilletti, and Outfielder #5 Zach Gilles also made the 2021 First Team All-MAC.  Pitcher #2 Grant Frazer, and Pitcher #6 Jordan Patty were named to the 2021 Second Team All-MAC.  Chippewas Head Coach Jordan Bischel was named MAC Coach of the Year.

     Wolverines Infielder #3 Ted Burton, and Pitcher #27 Steven Hajjar were named to the All-Big Ten First Team.  Outfielder #22 Tito Flores, Catcher #13 Griffin Mazur, Short Stop #2 Benjamin Sems, and Pitcher #55 Cameron Weston all made the All-Big Ten Second Team.  Infielder #8 Jimmy Obertop, and Pitcher #20 Willie Weiss were named to the All-Big Ten Third Team.

Eagles Season Wrap Up

     The Eastern Michigan University baseball team finished the 2021 season in 9th place in the MAC (Mid-American Conference) standings with a conference record of 15-25, and an overall record of 21-30.  The Eagles put together an eight game winning streak during the month of May, and two players were named to the 2021 First Team All-MAC including #17 Taylor Hopkins, and #16 Mike Monahan.  Eagles Pitcher #3 Davis Feldman was named to the 2021 Second Team All-Mac.  

     Shortstop #17 Taylor Hopkins finished the 2021 season with a .306 batting average.  Hopkins also accumulated 8 home runs, and 30 runs batted in.  First Baseman #16 Mike Monahan held a .341 batting average in 82 at bats.  Pitcher Davis Feldman finished the season with a 2.75 earned run average.  Feldman struck out 58 batters in 59 innings pitched.  Feldman's record this season was 4-5.

     Utility Player #24 Gabe Denton lead the Eagles in home runs with 10.  Denton also lead the Eagles with 35 runs batted in.  Pitcher #10 Luke McGuire was the Eagles Friday night pitcher this season.  McGuire finished the 2021 season with a 5-6 record, and a 4.92 earned run average.  McGuire also struck out 42 batters in 67.2 innings pitched.

The Eagles hosted Ball State University in April.  The Cardinals finished 2nd in the MAC.  

 



#24 Gabe Denton lead the Eagles in home runs with 10.  Denton also lead the Eagles with 35 RBI.



The Eagles put together an eight game winning streak during the month of May.



#16 Mike Monahan, and #17 Taylor Hopkins were named to the 2021 First Team All-MAC. 




The Eagles play their home games at Oestrike Stadium in Ypsilanti.

Kent State 4-3 EMU

     On Saturday, May 29th, the Kent State University Golden Flashes defeated the Eastern Michigan University Eagles 4-3.  It was the third game of a four game series that was played this past weekend at Oestrike Stadium in Ypsilanti.  The Golden Flashes also earned a 9-5 victory over the Eagles on Saturday afternoon, and a 4-2 win over the Eagles on Sunday.  The Eagles did pick up a 5-4 victory against the Golden Flashes on Friday night.  Scroll down to see exclusive photographs of Saturday night's game in Ypsilanti.   

     The Kent State University Golden Flashes finished the 2021 season in 3rd place in the MAC (Mid-American Conference) standings with a conference record of 23-17, and an overall record of 30-26.  The Eastern Michigan University Eagles finished the 2021 season in 9th place in the MAC standings with a conference record of 15-25, and an overall record of 21-30.

-  Eagles Pitcher #3 Davis Feldman was charged with the loss on Saturday night.


-  Kent State University earned non-conference victories this season over Dayton, Mississippi State, Seton Hall, and Tennessee Tech. 


-  Golden Flashes Outfielder #12 Ben Carew finished the season with 7 home runs, and 36 runs batted in.  Carew also had a .316 batting average.


-  Golden Flashes Pitcher #35 Luke Albright finished the season with a 6-4 record, and a 3.40 earned run average.  Albright accumulated 102 strike outs in 82 innings pitched. 


-  Kent State University reached the College World Series in 2012.
