The Muskegon Lumberjacks will face the Dubuque Fighting Saints on the road this Friday in Game 1 of the 2022 USHL (United States Hockey League) Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Lumberjacks swept the Cedar Rapids Roughriders 2-0 (in a best of three game series) in the first round of the 2022 USHL Playoffs. The Dubuque Fighting Saints earned a bye in the first round of the 2022 USHL Playoffs.
The Dubuque Fighting Saints finished the 2021-2022 USHL regular season in 2nd place in the USHL Eastern Conference standings with 86 points, and an overall record of 40-16-3-3 (3 overtime losses, and 3 shootout losses). The Muskegon Lumberjacks finished the 2021-2022 USHL regular season in 3rd place in the USHL Eastern Conference standings with 72 points, and an overall record of 33-23-3-3 (3 overtime losses, and 3 shootout losses).
The Chicago Steel finished the 2021-2022 USHL regular season in 1st place in the USHL Eastern Conference standings with 88 points and an overall record of 39-13-9-1 (9 overtime losses, and 1 shootout loss). The USA NTDP (National Team Development Program) failed to qualify for the 2022 USHL Playoffs. Team USA finished the 2021-2022 USHL regular season in 7th place in the 2021-2022 USHL Eastern Conference standings with 60 points, and an overall record of 27-29-5-1 (5 overtime losses, and 1 shootout loss).
The Tri-City Storm finished the 2021-2022 USHL regular season in 1st place in the USHL Western Conference standings with 98 points, and an overall record of 47-11-3-1 (3 overtime losses, and 1 shootout loss). The Storm will host the Omaha Lancers on Saturday in Game 1 of the USHL Western Conference Semifinals. The Sioux City Musketeers will also host the Waterloo Black Hawks on Saturday in Game 1 of the USHL Western Conference Semifinals.
Tri-City Storm Forward #13 Jeremy Wilmer lead the USHL this season in points, and in assists. Wilmer accumulated 25 goals, 73 assists, and 98 points in 60 games played this season. Tri-City Storm Defenseman #41 Mitchell Miller, and Sioux City Musketeers Forward #27 Ben Steeves both lead the USHL this season in goals. Miller compiled 39 goals, 44 assists, and 83 points in 60 games played this season. Steeves produced 39 goals, 28 assists, and 67 points in 60 games played this season.
Muskegon Lumberjacks Forward #28 Quinn Hutson lead the team this season in goals, and in points. Hutson accumulated 33 goals, 40 assists, and 73 points in 59 games played this season. Team USA Forward #3 Isaac Howard lead the team in points this season against USHL competition. Howard compiled 11 goals, 26 assists, and 37 points in 27 games played this season. Team USA Forward #19 Cutter Gauthier lead the team in goals this season against USHL competition. Gauthier produced 19 goals, 9 assists, and 28 points in 22 games played this season.
