On Saturday, September 30th, the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Washington Capitals 5-2 in a preseason matchup at Little Caesars Arena. Red Wings Center #71 Dylan Larkin scored two goals against the Capitals. The Red Wings currently have an overall preseason record of 3-1 after earning a 6-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks last night in downtown Detroit. Detroit will open up the 2023-2024 season on the road against the New Jersey Devils on Thursday, October 12th. The Red Wings home opener is scheduled for Saturday, October 14th vs. the Tampa Bay Lightning.
