Big Ten Looks Solid

 



     The 2021 college football season is well underway, and the Big Ten Conference looks solid.  The latest AP Top 25 Poll features five Big Ten Conference teams including #4 Penn State, #5 Iowa, #11 Ohio State, #14 Michigan, and #17 Michigan State.  Maryland, Rutgers, and Wisconsin all received votes to be ranked in the latest AP Top 25 Poll.  Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, and Penn State are all currently undefeated with records of 4-0.  Ohio State, Purdue, and Rutgers each have an overall record of 3-1.

Big Ten Parity




     The 2020-2021 Men's basketball Big Ten Conference schedule is setting up to give us one of the most exciting seasons in history because of its parity.  There are currently 9 Big Ten Conference teams ranked in the latest AP (Associated Press) Top 25 Poll including #6 Wisconsin, #10 Iowa, #14 Rutgers, #15 Illinois, #16 Michigan, #17 Michigan State, #19 Northwestern, #21 Minnesota, and #25 Ohio State.   

     Big Ten Conference rosters are loaded with superstars including (Minnesota Guard) Marcus Carr, (Illinois Guard) Ayo Dosunmu, (Illinois Center) Kofi Cockburn, (Iowa Center) Luke Garza, (Indiana Forward) Trayce Jackson-Davis, (Wisconsin Forward) Micah Potter, (Michigan Guard) Franz Wagner, (Michigan State Guard) Rocket Watts, (Purdue Forward) Trevion Williams, and (Rutgers Guard) Ron Harper Jr.

-  Ron Harper Jr.'s Father Ron Harper was a star in the NBA. 


-  Pete Nance's Father Larry Nance was a star in the NBA. 


-  Duane Washington Jr. was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Michigan vs. Maryland





Last weekend, the Michigan Wolverines hosted the Maryland Terrapins for a 3 game series.  UofM won 2 out of 3 games. 











     Last weekend, the University of Michigan baseball team hosted the University of Maryland Terrapins for a 3 game series.  Maryland won the first game of Saturday's doubleheader 3-1 behind their ace #18 Mike Shawaryn.  Shawaryn pitched 7.1 innings, allowed 5 hits, 1 run, and recorded 7 strikeouts.  Michigan recovered to win the second game 10-1, and the Wolverines won the rubber match on Sunday 5-2.  Scroll down to see exclusive photos from the Wolverines 10-1 victory over the Terrapins.
     The University of Michigan baseball team currently has an overall record of 16-12, and the Wolverines are 2-4 in the Big Ten Conference.  The Wolverines are currently riding a 4 game winning streak.  Click on the links below for more information about the University of Michigan athletic program, the Big 10 Conference, or the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association).

The Maryland Terrapins are a new addition to the Big Ten Conference.  







The Michigan Wolverines play all of their home games at historic Ray Fisher Stadium.







#5 Brandon Lowe is currently batting .380.  Lowe already has 6 home runs,  and 21 RBI (runs batted in).






#34 Kyle Jusik is playing in his Senior season for the Wolverines.  Jusik is from Portage, Michigan.






The Michigan Wolverines won 2 out of 3 games against the Maryland Terrapins.  






The Terrapins currently have an overall record of 19-7.
