Icehawks Soar Over Wild 10-2

On Saturday, the Tri-City Icehawks (in black) defeated the Michigan Wild (in light blue) 10-2.

     On Saturday, the Tri-City Icehawks soared over the Michigan Wild 10-2.  Both teams compete in the Midwest Division of the USPHL (U.S. Premier Hockey League).  The Michigan Wild play all of their home games at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena located at 35500 E. 8 Mile Road, in Farmington Hills.  Click on the link below for more information about the USPHL.
     The Tri-City Icehawks are currently in 1st place in the Midwest Division Eastern Conference standings with 73 points, and an overall record of 35-7.  The Icehawks play all of their home games at the Bay County Civic Arena located at 4231 Shrestha Drive, in Bay City.
     The Michigan Wild are currently in 8th place in the Midwest Division Eastern Conference standings with 6 points, and an overall record of 2-42.  The Wild will play their final home game of the 2015-2016 season against the Detroit Fighting Irish on Saturday, February 13th, at 5:30 p.m.

Hounds 5 - 3 Wild

Last night, the Traverse City Hounds (in dark blue) defeated the Michigan Wild (in light blue) 5-3.

     Last night, the Traverse City Hounds defeated the Michigan Wild 5-3.  Both teams compete in the Midwest Division of the USPHL (U.S. Premier Hockey League).  The Michigan Wild play all of their home games at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena located 35500 E. 8 Mile Road.  Click on the link below for more information about the USPHL.
     The Traverse City Hounds currently have an overall record of 8-1.  The Hounds played the previous three seasons in the MWJHL (Midwest Junior Hockey League), and won three MWJHL Championships.  They were known as the Hartland Hounds during their first year in the MWJHL.  The Michigan Wild currently have an overall record of 1-12.  The Wild also played the previous three seasons in the MWJHL, and the franchise was known as the Michigan Ice Dogs.

Ice Dogs vs. Monarchs

On Saturday, the Motor City Monarchs defeated the Michigan Ice Dogs (in white) 4-1.

     On Saturday, the Motor City Monarchs defeated the Michigan Ice Dog 4-1 at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena. Both teams compete in the MWJHL (Midwest Junior Hockey League), and Saturday's game marked the final regular season game for both clubs.  The 2014-2015 MWJHL Playoffs begin this weekend, and all 7 teams have qualified for the postseason.  The Motor City Monarchs will host the Michigan Ice Dogs in a best of three game series, and the Monarchs will have the home ice advantage for the entire series.  Game 1 is scheduled for Friday March 13th, puck drops at 7:15 p.m.
     The Motor City Monarchs finished the 2014-2015 regular season in 2nd place in the MWJHL standings with 66 points, and an overall record of 33-13.  The Monarchs play all of their home games at the Fraser Hockeyland located at 34400 Utica Road.  Click on the link below for more information about the Motor City Monarchs.

#13 Trevor Pode scored 33 goals in 36 games this season.  Pode added 43 assists for a total of 76 points.

Michigan vs. Detroit

On December 19th, the Detroit Fighting Irish (in green) defeated the Michigan Ice Dogs (in white) 6-3.

     The Michigan Ice Dogs, and the Detroit Fighting Irish both compete against each other in the MWJHL (Midwest Junior Hockey League).  The Fighting Irish are currently in 3rd place in the MWJHL standings with 45 points, and an overall record of 31-10 (1 overtime loss, and 2 shootout losses).  The Fighting Irish play all of their home games at the Ice Box.  The Ice Box is located on 21902 Telegraph Road, in Brownstown Township. Monarchs Hockey

The MC Monarchs (in white) are in 2nd place in the MWJHL standings with 48 points, and an overall record of 24-10.

     The MWJHL (Midwest Junior Hockey League) includes 7 junior hockey teams from our local area.  The Traverse City Hounds have dominated the league for three seasons, but the expansion of the league has created some serious competition. The MC Monarchs are playing their 1st season in the Midwest Junior Hockey league, and they currently find themselves in 2nd place in the MWJHL standings with 48 points, and an overall record of 24-10.  The MC Monarchs play all of their home games at Fraser Hockeyland located on 34400 Utica Road.

Hounds 4 - Ice Dogs 1

On Friday night, the Traverse City Hounds (in white) defeated the Michigan Ice Dogs 4-1.

     The Traverse City Hounds brought their undefeated record into the Farmington Hills Ice Arena on Friday night, and left with a 4-1 victory.  The Hounds also picked up a 5-2 win on Saturday evening over the Ice Dogs. The Traverse City Hounds, and the Michigan Ice Dogs both compete against each other in the MWJHL (Midwest Junior Hockey League).  The Michigan Ice Dogs play all of their home games at the Farmington Ice Arena located at 35500 8 Mile Road.

Ice Dogs vs. Jr. Blaze

Earlier today, the Michigan Ice Dogs (in dark colored uniform) hosted the Bloomington Jr. Blaze (in white)! 

Both teams compete in the Midwest Junior Hockey League!  There are currently 7 teams competing in the MWJHL.

The game was played at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena.  The Ice Dogs play all of their home games there.

The MWJHL regular season is winding down.  The Ice Dogs have just 1 more game remaining on their schedule!

Both teams are hoping to close out the MWJHL season on a positive note! 

The score was tied at 2-2 at the end of the 1st period.  The Ice Dogs controlled the tempo throughout the final 2 periods. 

The Michigan Ice Dogs scored 6 unanswered goals in the second, and third periods.

#35 Jacob Dugan made 28 saves for the Ice Dogs.  

The Michigan Ice Dogs defeated the Bloomington Jr. Blaze 8-2.

Ice Dogs 8 - Jr. Blaze 2

Earlier this afternoon, the Michigan Ice Dogs (in dark colored uniform) defeated the Bloomington Jr. Blaze (in white) 8-2.

     The Michigan Ice Dogs defended their home ice this afternoon at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena.  The Ice Dogs scored six unanswered goals, and defeated the Bloomington Jr. Blaze 8-2.  Both teams compete in the MWJHL (Midwest Junior Hockey League), along with six other local area teams.  #19 Adam Stadler (from Livonia, Michigan) scored two goals for the Ice Dogs, while #35 Jacob Dugan (from Canton, Michigan) made 28 saves in net.  The game was tied 2-2 at the end of the first period, but the Michigan Ice Dogs controlled the tempo throughout the final two periods.  The MWJHL regular season is winding down, and the Ice Dogs have just one game remaining on their schedule.  They will host the Berkley Bruins on March 8th, at 7:30 p.m. at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena.

Firehawks vs. Ice Dogs

On Sunday afternoon, the Michigan Ice Dogs (in blue) hosted the Soo Firehawks (in white)!

Both teams compete in the Midwest Junior Hockey League!  The MWJHL has 7 teams from all over the Midwest!

The game was played at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena!  The Ice Dogs play all of their home games there!

The Michigan Ice Dogs lead 1-0 early, but the Soo Firehawks responded!

The Soo Firehawks scored six times on Sunday against the Ice Dogs!  Three goals came in the third period!

#11 Andrew Holder scored three times, and earned himself a hat trick!

Firehawks 6 - Ice Dogs 1

On Sunday afternoon, the Soo Firehawks (in white) defeated the Michigan Ice Dogs (in blue) 6-1.

     The Soo Firehawks came into the Farmington Hills Ice Arena on Sunday afternoon, and left with a 6-1 victory over the Michigan Ice Dogs.  #17 Drew Hull put the Ice Dogs on the board early, but the Firehawks responded on both ends of the ice.  #11 Andrew Holder contributed a hat trick, while #1 Anthony Benvenuti made 26 saves. The Firehawks lead 3-1 after two periods, and added three more goals in the third period.  Both teams compete in the MWJHL (Midwest Junior Hockey League), along with five other teams.
     The Soo Firehawks are currently in 2nd place in the MWJHL standings with 49 points, and an overall record of 24-11.
