Flat Rock 7/8/2017

There were three 50 Lap Features at Flat Rock Speedway on Saturday night. 

     There were three 50 Lap Features at Flat Rock Speedway on Saturday night.  The night of racing kicked off with a 25 Lap Street Stock B Main Feature won by Rich Abel, and the #50 car.  Justin Schroeder, and the #4 car won the 50 Lap ARCA Moran Chevrolet Late Model Feature.  Jeff Metdepenningen, and the #78 car won the 50 Lap DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stock A Main Feature.  Jeremy Vanderhoof, and the #6 car won the 50 Lap Victory Lane Quick Oil Change Figure 8 Feature.  The evening of racing was followed by a fireworks show sponsored by Monroe Superstore.  Scroll down to see exclusive photos of Saturday night's ARCA races.  Click on the links below for more information about Flat Rock Speedway, or ARCA Racing.

Jiovani Wins At Flat Rock!

On Saturday, July 11th, Frank Jiovani and the #45 car won at Flat Rock Speedway.

     It was an incredible night of ARCA (Automobile Racing Club of America) racing last Saturday (July 11th) at Flat Rock Speedway.  The evening featured three 50 lap races, followed by a firework display.  Frank Jiovani (pictured above) and the #45 car won the 50 Lap Late Model Feature.  Landon Schuster and the #118 car claimed victory in the 50 Lap Street Stock Feature.  Jeremy Vanderhoof and the #6 car won the 50 Lap Figure 8 Feature.

Action At Flat Rock Speedway!

On May 2nd, Jeremy Vanderhoof and the #6 car won the 30 Lap Figure 8 Feature at Flat Rock Speedway.   

     The 2015 ARCA (Automobile Racing Club of America) racing season is well underway, and Flat Rock Speedway is the place to be on Saturday evenings (weather permitting).  On May 2nd, Jeremy Vanderhoof (pictured above) and the #6 car won the 30 Lap Figure 8 Feature.  Arnold Kirsch (pictured below) and the #7 car won the 40 Lap Street Stock Feature.  Scroll down to check out exclusive photos from all of the action that took place on May 2nd at Flat Rock Speedway.

Erich Heuschele, Kevin Stepinski and the #53 cars competed in the Figure 8 Train Race.

Arnold Kirsch and the #7 car pulled into Autograph Alley with the trophy.  

The Figure 8 races are a fan favorite at Flat Rock Speedway.  

Flat Rock Speedway was filled with ARCA race cars for the 30 Lap Figure 8 Feature.  

Dennis Helsel drove the #02 car during the 40 Lap Street Stock Feature.

There was plenty of chaos during the Figure 8 Train Race.

Flat Rock Photo Album! Opening Night 2013!

Opening Night At Flat Rock Speedway 2013

Jeremy Vanderhoof and the #6 car won the 20 Lap Figure-8 Race

     Flat Rock Speedway kicked off another season last Saturday, and the Mitten State Sports Report was there for all the action.  Mother nature was cooperative, providing a pleasant evening for late April racing.  The action began with a 50 lap Late Model race won by Dakota Carlson and the #8 car.  Carlson lead the entire way in a race that was ran clean and accident free.  Officials did have to stop the race during the Figure-8 heaps, and during the Street Stock 25 lap race to fix problems with the asphalt.  The Late Model 50 lap race did not experience any of these delays.
     The Street Stock drivers took the stage next for a 25 lap race that started in broad day light, and ended under the lights of Flat Rock Speedway.  Rob Moore and the # 82 car lead the entire race, and eventually took home the checkered flag.  Asphalt repairs, crashes, and spin outs, occurred during the street stock race, and one driver experienced a smoke filled car that followed a loud pop.  The delays did not take away from the excitement however, as fans used the opportunity to walk around, and utilize the refreshment stands.
     The "Motor City Mad Men, and One Crazy Lady" came out to a loud cheer from the crowd, as the Figure-8 races are a staple main event at Flat Rock Speedway.  The 20 lap race capped off the night with several close calls, and plenty of heart pounding moments.  Jeremy Vanderhoof and the #6 car took home the checkered flag in a race that he controlled from the get go.  Vanderhoof won his eleventh (all time) Figure-8 Race at Flat Rock Speedway currently placing him seventeenth all time in Figure-8 race wins at Flat Rock Speedway.  Bill Early and the #9 car finished in third place on Saturday night, and is currently in fifteenth place (all time) with eleven Figure-8 Race victories at Flat Rock Speedway.  Bob Studt holds the record at Flat Rock Speedway for most all time Figure-8 Race victories.  Studt accumulated a total of 115 victories.
