Buccaneers Draft Ramirez

     The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected #4 Defensive End Jose Ramirez in the 6th round (196th overall pick) of the 2023 NFL (National Football League) Draft.  Ramirez played college football at Eastern Michigan University from 2019-2022.  Ramirez also played football at the University of Arizona in 2017.  In 2018, Ramirez played Junior College football at Riverside City College located in Riverside, California.  Jose Ramirez is from Lake Alfred, Florida.

-  Jose Ramirez attended Auburndale High School located in Auburndale, Florida. 

-  On December 20th, 2022, Eastern Michigan University defeated San Jose State 41-27 in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

-  The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished the 2022 season in 1st place in the NFC South with an overall record of 8-9.  The Buccaneers lost to the Dallas Cowboys 31-14 in the NFL Wild Card Round.

Barry Waved!

     I was doing some work at a local high school a few months ago when Barry Sanders walked right by me.  I was starstruck, and noticed Sanders right away.  "That's Barry Sanders" is what I said as he walked by, and some of my co-workers were in disbelief.  One person even stated, "That's not Barry Sanders, that's just some guy".  As Barry walked, I called out his name.  I said "Barry" in a way that you would've thought that we knew each other.  Barry looked back, waved, and we all waved back.
     Just about everyone was in acknowledgement by this time that it really was Barry Sanders that walked by us.  A security guard was walking by about a half hour later, so I asked him.  "Was that Barry Sanders that walked by us earlier"?  The guard confirmed what I had already known, and he added that Sanders, Joe Dumars, and Rasheed Wallace all have kids that attend the school, and all three could be seen throughout the campus on a regular basis.
    I grew up watching Barry Sanders, and saw him play once at the Silverdome, during a win over the Bears. Former Lions quarterback Erik Kramer played for Chicago that day.  I use to look forward to seeing the Buccaneers on the schedule, because it seemed like Sanders torched them every time they met.  The coolest part about seeing Barry Sanders was that he waved to us!
