| The Eastern Michigan University hockey team celebrated a 6-4 victory over University of Michigan Dearborn. |
On Saturday night, the Eastern Michigan University hockey team celebrated a 6-4 victory, on the road, over University of Michigan Dearborn. Both teams compete in Division 1 of the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association), and both schools are conference rivals in the GLCHL (Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League). Saturday night's game was tied 2-2 at the end of two periods. Eastern Michigan University took a 3-2 lead early in the third period, and #10 Ryan Faucheux added a goal to make it 4-2. The Wolverines got back into the game, and managed to tie the score with consecutive goals by #22 Jase Paciocco, and #93 Jeremy Klotz. The game was tied 4-4 with six minutes to play. #16 Zachary Willis scored the go ahead goal for Eastern Michigan, and the Eagles added a goal with 47 seconds left on the clock. The Wolverines outshot the Eagles 53-29, but Eastern Michigan escaped with the 6-4 victory.
The Eastern Michigan University hockey team is currently in 5th place in the GLCHL standings with 45 points, and an overall record of 16-23.
